Todays Betting Pick: Champions League night

Posted on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 by "H".

No luck yesterday when Randers and AaB played 0-0 in Randers, but today we strike back when we go to corner-bets in the Champions League semi-final between Manchester City and Real Madrid.

Corner bets are a speciality and in some matches the odds just doesn't make sense. This is one of those matches, because this will be a very attacking game and both teams has very attacking wings, and that usually gives a lot of corners.

Real Madrid gets around 6.2 corners away while City gets 8.2 in avg. at home. That is 14.4 in total and way above the spread which is just 10.5.

Ronaldo and Bale themselves should almost reach the line. Then there is Kevin de Bruyne and Jesus Navas, where especially Navas usually goes to the line to make crosses.

We think the line 10.5 is too low. Odds 1.90 on more than 10 corners is really good, and we see this one win easy today.

Bet on over 10.5 corners at odds 1.90 at bet365.

Manchester City will play hosts to Real Madrid in the 1st leg of a champions league tie. The home team is unbeaten in its last 5 matches, drawing once during that period. Meanwhile, the away side has won its last 5 matches, and not conceded in 3 of them.

I think the corners race pays better - race to five, seven, nine corners - as an in-play bet for ManyCity will have the chance to come off green since Real will probably up early with a goal. Just my two cents.

The Champions League semifinals are not really good for goal bets for me the last days...But corner bets are the better for this game last Tuesday. I thought both of them are a good idea, because both Teams have a lot of really good strikers.

For me corners works best when the in-play stats suggests that there will be either a great shift toward one side in ball possesion or one team is already behind a goal and try to get even. Otherwise I am just leaving this segment alone because its very risky, especially with non-european football games.
