Siblings Put On Three-year Probation For Cheating At Roulette

In 2012, James Countryman was employed as a dealer at the Motor City Casino in Detroit, Michigan. One day James and his sister, India Countryman, scammed the casino out of approximately $4,700 at a roulette table by placing a bet on the winning number after the wheel had stopped spinning.

It didn't take long before casino officials found out about the cheating scheme. The siblings denied any wrongdoing although the security video footage suggested otherwise (India betted after the ball landed on 14 red).

In a 3-0 decision last Friday, the appeals court rejected the challenge by James and India Countryman. Due to their crimes, the two will remain on probation for three years.

It makes all the sense to get this probation. What were they expecting? When i started reading this i was looking for what a new mad way someone had found to get money out of a casino without resorting to luck. After all, they went to the opposite way, doing what no one is nowadays expected to do. Still, it made me laugh!

"T" has definitely missed a trick here.... Why is the line "James, and fellow countryman India, scammed the casino....." not in there? Smile

I don't think that these guys were criminal masterminds and hardly made a fortune from their crimes so probably probation was sufficient......If they had been caught doing that in Las Vegas I expect the punishment would be very different.

A Sitting Bull here, a Little Feather there and now the whole native-american tribal nation is working for the sake of the gambling industry. Truly a success story - as this article clearly showing it. I guess their spirit animal just changed to Smaug, the dragon.
