In 2012, James Countryman was employed as a dealer at the Motor City Casino in Detroit, Michigan. One day James and his sister, India Countryman, scammed the casino out of approximately $4,700 at a roulette table by placing a bet on the winning number after the wheel had stopped spinning.
It didn't take long before casino officials found out about the cheating scheme. The siblings denied any wrongdoing although the security video footage suggested otherwise (India betted after the ball landed on 14 red).
In a 3-0 decision last Friday, the appeals court rejected the challenge by James and India Countryman. Due to their crimes, the two will remain on probation for three years.
