A Florida woman is facing charges after running away from police, and then being caught with counterfeit cash. Latisha Renea Rich, age 30, and a male accomplice were at the Imperial Palace Casino and Resort when casino staff had noticed that the man with her was trying to pass off counterfeit cash the one of their table games. Casino staff tried to report the two, but by the time the casino security were able to arrive, they were already gone.
A short while later, Biloxi Police spotted Rich's car traveling southwards on Caillavet Street. When they signaled for her to stop, she kept going. On Reynoir Street she got out of her car and tried to escape on foot but was captured and arrested. Upon her arrest, the officers were able to seize over $1,000 in counterfeit bills with her. The man with her has not been identified.
Rich is facing charges of possession of a counterfeit instrument with intent to utter. She was taken to Harrison County Adult Detention Center with bond set at $100,000.
