It appears that for some very lucky people, the past weekend in Sin City is the best place to be if you want to win some serious life-changing prizes just by playing a slot machine.
On June 3, Saturday, at the Arizona Charlie's Decatur, a lucky player hit the jackpot on IGT's Wheel of Fortune Lucky 7s slot machine. The jackpot prize was $1.67 million. The $1 progressive game has now been reset to its minimum prize of $1 million.
Next day, June 4, Sunday, at the Wynn Las Vegas on the Strip, another lucky player managed to nab the jackpot on IGT's Wheel of Fortune Triple Hot Ice slot machine. The jackpot prize was $343,000, and the 25-cent progressive game has now been reset back to its standard prize of $200,000.
The progressive jackpot prizes offered by IGT can be claimed by the player via two ways: either be paid in yearly installments for a number of years, or get a lump sum payment which is less than the actual jackpot amount.
According to a spokeswoman of IGT, both players wish to remain anonymous.
