Why do you even consider him as stupid? I find it more stupid, if people do anything they don't even want/like to. Doing a job which doesn't make them happy, just because of the money, or studying anything just to have a degree at the end, even though they are totally sick of it. That's stupid, isn't?
I respect people who go their own way, no matter how unusual it is, or how risky it may be, but they do have a passion and they 're happy. I'm not saying a good job or a degree is useless, no, I'm just saying you must go your own way, to become happy in your life....

That's not really the point here. This guy is actually considering playing poker full time, without even a backup plan (college) after a few months of poker. I don't really care how much he's won, he may be a good poker player, hey he may be a greatpoker player. If he had half a brain though, in a few years, he could be a great poker player with a college degree.

He should keep studying, get a job and play poker as a hobby until he can cash a big amount of money on a MTT or his bankroll be enough to play cash in a high level. He should re-think this idea if his bankroll were 10K-20K and he was sure that he'd be able to win 10K at least per year.

Some people are just plane dumb Education has got to be in the front of your mind when going through uni. If you not on the ball you'll be a fat lazy waster for the rest of your life. How many students do you think go through this sort of dilema every year? A 2K bankroll does not make you a pro player hahaha

I vote for education , you have won a decent amount but it dosnt mean you will keep winning, every player gets a down swing and what about if you bust your bankroll? you wont be able to get a nice job
Stupid because I think it's a stupid behaviour to spend all time trying to realize a dream. Better for him to keep on studying and playing poker at same time. Don't see any difficulities in it

Lol @ how many people who are talking as though doomdy was the student who is considering this. I think he may have lost some of the deserved respect he has at this site with this post even though he agrees that it's stupid.

i voted stupid but i don't think this has something to do with being stupid yes or no ... we have only small info ... yes he was able to win and make a nice bankroll but does he like to go to uni ? does he will succeed at uni ? is there any pressure from family to go to uni and so on .... is hard to make a decision for someone who we have no info about as student or even as poker player because making a nice bankroll in some months does not mean that you are a pro already !!! so in my opinion is the decision that he needs to make a decision that has nothing to do with being stupid yes or no !
