"We have put together a two part plan to offer players a more desirable game selection. The goal of this plan is to offer games that a variety of players, with a variety of playing styles, will find attractive, while not removing games that players still want to play.

1st phase – We will start this phase in March, and hopefully have it completed by April.

• Add table name prefix “short” to all 20BB tables. 20BB Tables will have limited range of Game Play Type (Speed and Regular)

• Add 35BB tables with no table name prefix (assume to be ‘standard’ tables). 35BB Tables will have full range of Game Play Type (including Jackpot).

• Remove all 50BB tables.

2nd phase – Tentative plan to have completed by Summer.

Introduce a legend/icon table naming system, which allows players to easily find the games they want to play. Leave 35BB games as the ‘standard” buy-in, non-legend tables."

The main reason sites are changing their buy in amounts is because the SSS if far too effective in clearing bonus offers since it's easy to multitable like mad without risking too much of your own money to do it.

Hi again!!

Do you think the SSS can be played in some site at 2011? If Pokerstars kill it too..

Removing the 50BB tables is far from "killing" the short stackers. It is more killing the tables, that were created to kill the SSS.

umm
I think you missed it

They're talking about the label'n of 20BB tables as 'short' and the standard tables being 35BB and no longer requiring 50BB tables.

1st phase ? We will start this phase in March, and hopefully have it completed by April.
? Add table name prefix ?short? to all 20BB tables. 20BB Tables will have limited range of Game Play Type (Speed and Regular)
? Add 35BB tables with no table name prefix (assume to be ?standard? tables). 35BB Tables will have full range of Game Play Type (including Jackpot).
? Remove all 50BB tables.
For the 50BB table, 50 X .04 = $2.00

2nd phase ? Tentative plan to have completed by Summer.
Introduce a legend/icon table naming system, which allows players to easily find the games they want to play. Leave 35BB games as the ?standard? buy-in, non-legend tables."

I don't have an account at Party so I don't know what there mircros table are, but for this I will assume a .02/.04 table which is pretty common at most rooms.
So for the short tables 20BB buyin would be 20 X .04 = $0.80 with limited range of Game Play
For the 35 BB buyin would be 35 X .04 = $1.40
So what is going to stop the SSS players from just going from 20BB to 35BB and making some adaptations? It is only a difference of 42.86% or $0.60 (15BB X .04) between the two. Then removing the 50BB tables all together??? I don't know if I would want that. At least with 50BB, after a pre flop raise, then a c-bet, the player still has some money to play the turn/river therefore forcing them to play poker and not just be an idiot that shoves either pf or on the flop. Don't worry, the sss players will come up with a new system for the 35BB tables. However starting to put restrictions on the 20BB tables is a really good idea. I would like to see the further steps toward resolving sss players but this is a good start. Maybe earn less fpp's toward bonuses and lower rakeback will also help kill them.

don't think so, by the time you clear the bonus you have generated enough rake to cover for the bonus offer.
shortstackers are a nuisance to people who wanna play poker thats why they are making changes.
