OK, I think as a poker player there is no doubt that the game gives you/me some what of a rush, but im not talking here about taking drugs for a rush, im talking of using whatever to improve your game. I think its fairly well known that there are lots of players out there using, and most players use somethink for somwhat of a boost...so im woundering... Do any of you use? DO you think it improves your game? would you use if you could or thought it would improve your game? What would you be using them for? calm nerves, stay awake, improve memory or outher? Are you strictly against all drugs and use? Should drug tests be used in big games such as the WSOP? Do you think the likes of ginkgo biloba works? Etc etc..
PLease disguise and add commeents or outher question reguarding the use of drugs in poker.

I usually have coffee if im playing a long tournament we all know alcohols bad when playing poker & with marijuana i'd have to keep getting up to get food & then i'd probably fall asleep

Diffrent strokes for diffrent folks, in short there are stimulents and relaxants...stimulents being the likes of coacaine, caffeine and even nicotene....relaxants are the likes of pot, valium and blue. They will be use to either improve concentratin, alertness or to remove anxaiety and relax,think they are the main ones....but for what is out there..my guess tons of stuff, I actuall just started taking Omega-3+6 (for concentration and brain development), if it works might move on to coke LOL.
BTW I knew a bad chain smoker, and I mean bad he would use 1 match a day, he quite using patches and that pen thing, give it a try, some herbel cigs can even be good for you....time to put the kettle on

i could just imagine play poker on meth...would be a task! mushrooms would be a definite bankroll saver cuz i cant stand still long enough to turn the computer on

I play pretty good with a few beers in my body. I play better when I'm totally sober and fresh. But if I'm tired, it's hot, and I'm sort of bugged out at something, I play way way worse, thank when I'm tanked. Besides, I can play good a whole lot longer when I drink. If I'm sober, my game deteriorates after a few hours.
So, alcohol ftw!
(Although, sober, I gotta play two tables, while drunk I stick to one. The mind works somewhat slower.)
It's a different story for each person/ user I think. Because if you normally use 2 grams (or more) of marijuhana or other drugs each day, your body is used to it and its no problem to smoke a joint. See the comment about Stu. People who not used to it can't do this because, I'm sure it will effect their game. I was a frequent user of all sort of drugs so I can tell from experience, by the way I'm not proud of it. In general you can say that using drugs have a negative effect even the uppers and for all the downers I'm sure your game will not improve. Good thread

studies have proven that meth-amphetamine improves your working memory. So if you were to take meth for a single session, in theory, you would have an edge.
I play loads better when I'm on MDMA for some reason. Feel some sort of affinity with the cards or something ^^ Steer clear of the class As these days though, just tea & roll-ups for me. Maybe the odd ounce of weed ;p
Never used drugs either to play or to do someone else. Don't like to play drunk. Sex ( lot of sex ) only is allowed to play better ( after doing it, of course )
