good Q. lots of sites have inactive clauses, so if you dont play and have money in the account they will charge a % or a set fee, in that case I guess the site gets it. Not sure if probate could get the money for whoever is to recive it. I guess something written up with layers would solve the problem, a will with details on how to get access to the sites and funds, when transferd to a bank account the relative should then be able to have the funds transferd. PS. If this is Miss Davoodoo, then note theMob will see you at the funeral and all funds will become property of the Mob.

It is an interesting thought. If you have hundreds of dollars in your account and you die, the site has no responsibility to give the money back? I'm sure it's already happened with the number of people who play poker. But if you take your account and password to the grave I don't see how anyone would be able to do anything about it.

I think that in many occasions relatives doesn´t even know where you are playing poker online because that doesn´t come up often... but if we are talking about some kind of big timer poker pro, then I think that the closest relatives gets their cuts of the pie.

yeah , but is she allowed to withdraw it ?
Why not? How does the poker room knows that somebody died? If the funds are withdrawn from within the pokerroom client soft to a credit card or Moneybookers, how do they know that it is not an account owner?

I would imagine any even semi-legit site would have a policy in place to be able to release the money to the executor of the estate/will. This is standard for any situation when money/service/goods/etc is held by a third party and needs to be accessed.

I am off course making a testament that gives all of my poker money to a second safe here at BRM. Only people that have been a member more than a year, and has more than 200 posts will win.

Posted by Davoodoo: Scenario: You have a poker account at a site with X amount real money, and then you die...
What happens next ?
Who will get your money ?
How long will an account be active with real money in it ?
Will your relatives have right to the money if they contact the poker site or does the money belong to the site owners once your dead ?
Nothing bad has happened im just curious and think its an interesting question
Tried to read some T&C at some sites but didnt find any answers ...
What do you think ?
Are you interested in Dozn money?
