Comfort Level, What Site And Why?????  0
My feeling is that we all experience what I call a "comfort level" at the sites we play. I used to have a very high comfort level at FTP. I cashed out over $600 there just over a year ago. Ever since then, my comfort level has bottomed out. I don't feel comfortable playing any hands any more. My best hand has to lose consistently. Doesn't matter how I play the best hand either, it loses way more than it should. I would love to blame FTP and say it's rigged, but we all know where that will go. I don't believe they are rigged anyway.

My comfort level at Party Poker is very high. Love the site and how the tourneys go. I have a good read on most people I play. Provided I continue to play by "my rules", things should continue decently. Of course there are just as many donkeys as FTP, with their blind structure and starting chips it's easier to get through.

My comfort level at Poker Stars is not quite high, but say 65-70%. I don't play there a lot, mainly because of my goal to build from nothing. They have no daily freerolls, so they generally suck. Although their freeroll to The Big Game is loads of fun. Have won dozens of 2nd round tickets. And several 3rd round tickets. But there is no "real" chance at building a bankroll from nothing there.

My comfort level at Celeb Poker is I guess sort of middle. Don't play there a lot, so it is hard to build a comfort level. I feel it takes quite some time to achieve a level. And here it would take 8 months in terms of hours played.

So my goal is to get back my comfort level at FTP. I feel we all have our own "rules" to playing poker. For some reason my "rules" don't work there anymore. Give me your thoughts on your "comfort level" and how it helps you. Not sure what I'm going to have to do at FTP to achieve this. Should be interesting. Thumbs Up Worship

Well good luck in the future with winning some cash games. I play now mostly on Pokerstars because I have a winning streak right now.

started playing ring games at FTP this month (i play omaha PL h/l ).
since i started i keep losing every single day no matter what hands i get and how good they are.
And at some times of course you cant keep calling pot bets to hit something at the river.
On the other hand though there are a couple of players that no matter what they are winning min
10-20$ every day and that when im logged at FTP.
How on earth they do it idk.
And im talking about 0.01/0.02 blinds so 10$ min each day its a very high amount
He is a pot player, preflop pot raise and keeps raising the pot no matter what till the river
He is gonna win 9 out of 10 hands by doing so.
So dont know what to say anymore for that guy and how he does it.
Betting the pot after flop with absolutely nothing and winning at the river most of the times ???
And me and all other players of course we lose 9 out of 10 hands even if we have the nuts after flop.
check him out if you like, his nick is Jellylegs
So that guy makes a very good profit, high i may say at playing at those limits
My ring exp so far at FT aint that good

I like playing at ipoker sites although they have changed the point system and at cake poker.

Very good thread BMWman. I'm personally feeling very comfortable on Pokerstars, i don't know the exact reason but playing there gives me a high comfort level. I noticed that for a reason or another you can't win too much on Pokerstars but if you play good you get constant good profits.
Then on my top is Full Tilt Poker, i really like their avatars and how their software works but it's true you get a lot of bad beats. However somehow on full tilt you earn a lot but you can also lose a lot.
At the same level of comfort as Full Tilt Poker is Party Poker, you can make some nice profits and palyers seem to fold a lot on all-ins on river.
Never tried other platforms except these three.

Wow pole position, gl and don't take your winnings to the partycasino,
but invest in poker, that's less gamble and more skill. Good luck.

I feel comfortable at any site as long as they have enough money and
enough tourney's to play. Top sites: FT, PS, PP, Cake-network rooms
and I-poker network rooms.

Man, I can totally relate to that. I feel the same way when I change networks. It feels like your natural instict doesn't apply anymore. I wonder if the rooms "feel" different because they're all designed to market to a different demographic.

Hi all, ive been playing at fulltilt for around 3 years now, the first 2 years i found this site to be good, but in the last 12 months ive found ft is really going down hill, not the software or the tourneys its just the level of players they are attracting now, its just bad beat after bad beat, and i defo relate to what mober is saying, there are a certain few players on ft cashing more often than not,!!! no matter what hands they have, could it be so called house players?? i dont know,??? im not saying ft are cheating in any way and dont believe they are, its a good site it just seems strange that day after day, week after week these so called loose players that play every hand and call every pot are making a good profit, wierd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! good luck to all.

interestingly enough, whilst the majority of winning online poker players are tight/aggressive.. Those at the VERY TOP, the true gods of poker; play loose aggressive - LAG.

yes i get what you are saying jess, very good answer, but to be honest i dont see the top players calling all in with 2,3s - 7,5s n 9,4s and hitting beating my AA, AK, KK,, AQs, more often than not, i know these hands arnt nailed on winning hands but realistically you would think the higher hands would be winning biggest percentage of the time ....... unless im just on tilt 24/7 lol thats probably it lol, good luck man. Aww crap!

i like partypoker ther i have my biggest winnings i also doing well on fulltillt right now and about Pokerstars im not sure never played real on money there just freerolls but i think for comfort you need a serios bankroll on pokerstars because the lowlevels are just crazy bingo-lotto players

Really baza. Well then I am the living proof. I get AA,KK,QQ,JJ don't matter they call with Q5os,92,72,87. I'm telling you, I've personally had it with the piss poor poker players I run into at FTP. It's getting really pathetic the crap they call and hit with.
