i need help, what should i do?  0
Hi, i play a lot of turneys.. and i selldom win or get in the money.
some times i bust because im not focused. but the last 3 weeks ive consentrated hard on every single turney.

now, ive read 4 books on poker, i study math at collage, but i seem to have a fatal flaw in my game.

every time i bust the last 3 weeks, at an avarage of 4 turneys a day, i get beat by runner runners.

like right now when im typing here, i was on unibet 10 K guarentee. and im on the button whit 7-6 suited
i raise 3x big blind and BB calls, everbody ells folds.
the flop is A Heart 6 Club 6 Spade
i bet half the pot, and he pushes. which is a overbet by far, but he has on 2 seperate ocations bluffed me like that, and others around the table. so i call.
ha shows K Heart 3 Heart
of course a 4 Heart on turn and 10 Heart on river and i bust.

every bust hand since i started consentrating on the game for real has been like this, i even have been beaten when i had 4 of a kind in 2 turneys.

so what should i do? there must be a strategy or something i can do to prevent this?

Unfortunately there are players who will go allin like that with almost no possible way of winning and will use the excuse that they were trying to represent the 6 . but they occasionally get very lucky. i can't see much wrong but i am not that good lol. maybe someone with more exp can point out any flaws.

when luck closes the door, youve gotta come through the window. thats were the skill comes in!.

try switching things up! change your game play. when your on the button with 6-7suited dont feel the need to raise. you can fold here! playing hands like that sometimes can win u hudge pots but wit A 6 6 comes up you holding trip 6's it could turn into a disaster. the guy holding an ace catches another ace on the river and all new online rigged threads start

You played that hand right to me as he called you with absolutely nothing and got lucky as s**t and hit a flush. People that play like that will always lose down the road as you can't play poker like that and have a winning percentage. I would of played that hand the exact same way but when he called my raise I would of went all in to try and push him out of the pot. If he called he would of hit chasing his ass off and winning that hand. But in poker it isn't winning one hand it's have a good percentage of winning more hands with proper reads and knowing your position and odds and outs. A guy like that isn't a poker player he's just a lucky donk. Blink

Hi go3an. There are two things I would say.

1. As has been said when your on the button don't always feel the need to raise - mix it up 2 out 3 times.

2. I also believe if he called your pre-flop raise you should have pushed all-in after the flop. This may have indicated that you had a 6 and with only one heart showing he should fold but as they say perhaps it wouldn't stop these idiots/donks. Don't worry though you will break through soon and forget about all those bad beats - WE all have them !!!!!

bad players are everywhere, live or online. nothing much you can do about them but take those badbeats with a smile. you'll lose some hands definitely but in long term you'll be a winner if you play good poker.

Unfortunately thats the nature of tourneys, even the best of the best can go on a big streak without cashing or only min-cashing. Not much you can do, to get paid in a MTT - especially the top few places - you need to survive a LOT of hands - chances are actually in favour that you'll bust to a bad beat in any given tourney.. Basically, you just need to play a LOT of them - and the times you come in the top 1-3 places will need to make up for the many many times you bust to some BS hand. Trust me - this is just how tourneys are.

You could try your hand at cash - a lot less frustrating getting busted by a runner runner when you can just reload, particularly because fish to buyin full either - meaning you lose f**k all, then next time when you stack them you end up winning a full stack because they've doubled up.

I would have to agree with crazy on this as far as you playing the hand right and the BB getting lucky. If this is how it's been going for you I would have to think your luck is due to change for the better here soon. It seems like I go through the same type of problems every couple of weeks I seem to have no luck. Can't seem to catcha break even with the considered good hands. There's no method to someone else's madness, meaning the luck some have when calling some hands like the K,3 Heart and hitting runner, runner. Be patient and stick to your program, things will get better for you, but then they will go back to not so good. Seems like the trend for a lot of poker players.

I must let you know that your asking advice at the right place, here in the BRM forum. My game improved considerbly after joining BRM and getting involved with the forum. Good Luck to you and All!

Totally agree. If you don't have much experience with cash try SNGs. I am currently doing pretty decent at 20 person SNGs (turbo), and I like that it doesn't drag on for hours. Change things up if the game has gotten stale. GL!
