ok i tried too and got the same result ..... so i went online to my staking site and talked to admin and got a solution which ill try to explain .... first off problem is a update stars are trying which failed so to log in you have to do this ..... as i use windows vista i hope you can follow .... click windows icon on bottom left of screen .... this bring up the window to access control panel , computor, documents etc ..... click on computer ... this brings up a window where you click on your C hard drive ... so double click that ...... Then locate file called program files and double click that .... then locate the file pokerstars and double click that ..... then locate the file pokerstars application its files size is 6,387kb double click this and your in ...... you will probably have to use this to log in until the other thing is sorted. anyway hope this works for u and anyone else who finds themselves with the same problem as it has worked for me off now as im heading away for a week cya all when i get back

I just tried to login to pokerstras now and everything seems okay, i haven't tried to log in this morning because i didn't had time for poker, but it really seems like a odd error for sure...
Since more members reported this it seems it wasn't a local problem with your computer, probably one of their servers changed the time and thats why everyone had this error, still glad they fixed now, since pokerstars it's a good site for certain poker games(not no limit holdem ).
Well, as long as you can acces now your pokerstars account and you still have your money in your account, there is not too much to worry about, so good luck at the tables and keep us posted!

my brother had the same prob he mailed support they got back to him in 10 mins and told him to download it again from pokerstars.com. they had some problems with the new update
I had the same prob last nite...so I removed the prog and redownloaded it. It's fine now. Strange coincidence though, every time they do an upgrade I go on a downswing for afew days..weird!?
