Posting about my downswing last week seems to have done the trick. Playing relaxed again, and things seem to be getting back to normal, although it´s a bit soon to tell.
Decided to try and get into the $200.000k for tomorrow on Party. Played a $2 qualifier for the $15 50-seat Frenzy on Party. Then played the Frenzy and turned that into a $215 entry. Never played the Frenzy because saturdays I usually have something to do. But the field is pretty soft, and my cards held up nicely.

So you've won entry into a $215 BI even :O nice man, sounds like might well be the end of run-bad. Just don't bubble the Main Event lol.
Venting on the forum probably has helped, the mind-set is very important, obviously negative-variance is a real thing and statistically it can and will happen. However - the way this effects your mentality can often make it a lot worse than it would otherwise be..
I recently had to take a fairly long break from playing, because I got my head into the wrong kind of space for poker, helped a lot and posted great results when I came back.

Thanks! That mind-set thing is what I wanted to change by writing about it. Was running like you are now before i had to go back to Belgium, and was very negative when I came back. That, coupled with the varience, completely srewed me up. I also avoided BRM during that time, didn´t want to rant about bad luck.
Realised now it´s best to get it out of you system by talking about it a bit. Plus the crap on BRM really cheers me up. A lot of funny stuff. Was in too dark a mood and kinda forgot about that.
Glad I´m back and having a good laugh every day. Love this bunch of Mobsters.

Good to hear things are turning around for you man, as we all know, variance can be a som-bitch when you're on the wrong side of it.
Are you gunna play the $215 seat or just take the tourney $$?

THAT is another one of the big reasons I preffered Full Tilt. Party doesn´t give you T$ when you unregister. You get your entry back in your account for another time.
You need to qualify a second time while holding on tot he first entry to get the second (or third etc.) paid out in T$.
Too bad, because my bankroll could have used those $s. I "might" just hold on to it till next week and try to qualify again during the week, not sure yet. I´´ll see how I feel tonight.
The 200K is their biggest Sunday tourney outside of the Million, which runs every 3 months now instead of every month. Never played this one, so I´ll see tonight how many runners and the payouts and decide.

well done winning the ticket to the main event with 2$ after your recent downswing, now you have to do well in the main event. or else it will all be waste. but atleast you found some of your confidence back

Definitely not playing this one today.
Qualified without having to play AA or any of the big 3 yesterday. Today played some more qualifiers, and it was the same s***. AA losing to a runner runner flush, QQ to a flopped Full House etc. etc. really horrible stuff. Looks like it´s not over... ....beyond caring about it too much, but my good mood is shot.
More importantly, peope are s**t today. In a qualifier for the same tournament (trying to get $215 for a second entry), this guy start calling me a Donk. No problem there, just very disagreeable.
I have 10-8 J-10-3 flop guy goes all-in I read it as an "airball" I call, he shows AK and loses
bla bla bla Donk bla bla Donk bla bla Big Donk bla bla bla
no problem.
15 min later, I raise with KJ on the button, small stack goes all-in with A8 He wins, and starts ranting that Belgians are idiots. Always play with nothing bla bla bla bla bla bla This was after losing to a bunch of bad beats already today. So i said the hell with it and dumped my chips.
Obviously in Tilting mode, so I´m not wasting a $215 entry on a sure loss. We´ll see next w/e.

Take a couple of days off, or at least a deep breath, then play in some tourneys where you really don't give a s**t whether you win or lose (10c 360's on Party for example). I always find this helps when I'm rally hacked off with the bad beats. Good Luck and don't give up

Relax Jack, like other mobsters say: take a step back, take your mind of poker for a couple of days and come back fresh and rejuvenated (as much as possible). When you come back be patient and stick to the strategies that worked for you in the past. Maybe next week your 200K entry wins you a couple of K. Gl
Maybe we"ll meet again, was card dead in the tourney and was fed up with it, you prob saw me leaving

Feel sorry for you Jack that you are on such a downswing. But as far as I know, you are a very good and experienced player. So I think things will for sure change again in near future. I keep my fingers crossed for you

Wow! Looks like I was really down on sunday. Yep, I need to relax. It´s really gotten to me. Going to try and stay away a few days and maybe do some "gaming" instead. COD or something. And do some reading a nd posting here as well, of course.
Kind of miss those "Sunday Majors" posts you used to make Jeff. Believe it or not, they really pushed me to play better, and it really upped my game back in April/May.
Very motivating stuff! Hope you make some of those posts again soon. ...and let us know how you´re running too...

Thx Jack. Enjoy your time 'out'. Question: it's summer and you live on a beautiful Island, do you sometimes go to the beach? Could be a brainrefresher too Glad the 'Sunday Major' posts were motivating. When i have more time i"ll return to real posting instead of popping by every now and then. I still read some posts though. Best 'Major' result last sunday was 22th in the Carbon poker Sunday 100K. Hopefully we"ll meet again on the tables coming sunday
