Watching videos while playing is never good. If you only play 2 tables or something then it should be ok but general rule is "if you've got time to do other stuff while playing,you're not working hard enough". I'm just listening to music and sometimes chat with other regs on skype to discuss hands etc

Ha ha, good point BeMyATMplz. That actually make a whole lot of sense. I never thought of it that way.
I usually am pretty focused on the game if I'm playing any more than 2 tables. Four keeps me pretty busy (I'm not the best multi-tabler I guess). If 'm just playing 1 or two then I'll read something or browse the web.

It depends from the games my mood and how many tables. I mostly hear to music and sometimes watch tv, or online videos when i play at 2 max 3 tables at a time. After 4 tables and up im just looking on the screen and nothing more

+1 BeMyATMplz! I think music is the best while playing poker cause you still watch what other people are doing. However you can't pick up many tells in online poker, all you can do is pretty much classify the players around the table to a "type" of player... And of course if you run good and play tight poker watching videos won't change much actually
Anyways, paying attention to your tables is definetly the best thing to do!

I listen to music at times and sometimes watch the sports which is great if the tables are very slow and you have the volume up on your computer so you know when a new hand is being dealt. But I dont think i would want to watch something which took concentration but if it works for you then go with it but for me its a no no. I sometimes play 9 hours in a day in fact i have today i do sometimes chat on msn at same time to but only if i am playing one table.

I have the tv on and/or music, but as i'm always multi-tabling and i agree with BeMyATM that your attention shoud be with the tables, all i hear is music and voices And you can get a lot of info and tells by paying attention, yes also in online poker, even though some people think you can't. In fact its neccesarry if you wan't to be a long term winning player. So music is probably best
