Hey guys I've played for 4 years now. First i played a year with a small - then a year fighting to break even. My motto is: if you allways do the same you can only expect the same result. So i decided to do something about it, bought some danish poker books. They helped me a litle bit but not much because the book was mostly about basics. So I bought Supersystems which i will recommend to all others. It helped me a lot not only my strategy but my mindset. The way i approach and see a poker game totally changed. I realised that i didnt want to win enough to win(poker is a hard way to make an easy living). Somebody wanted the win more than me and if he also was better than me, then there is not much competition. Just after reading SuperS i won 2*11 5 table in a row and then a 2nd place in 11 5 table. All 3 in a row, and i normally play cash. My bankroll got BOOSTED. After this i've been collecting knowledge from books, internet articles, videos etc. Im allways trying to get better, constantly trying to learn. Could i have earned more/lost less on that hand. Trying to make my game perfect And after this mental change my winnings slowly got better and better. And have been increasing since that
Sometimes I allmost feel like im cheating...I allways got the hand history open so i can see peoples mucked cards. In that way I find out how people play and how to play them. Pretty important short-handed which i play.
Thats my story hope to hear yours
I would have liked some HUGE MTT winnings to end of the story but i allways preferred cashgame because i saw MTT endless with fields of players where many of them probably are better than me...but lately i've been thinking of giving some of the Big GP tournaments a shot!
i playing poker for a year.. and i played and make some grat cashes .. i think my best was 7200 on a 30k guaranteed was greats.. the 2nd great was 777 on 2500 on cd poker .. but all arent winnings

LOL thats what it is about. You dont have to change your thinking because u read a book. U should learn to incorporate the things u learn from the book into your own game, not change your game. I doubt u know the game as well as top pro's who has played for the last 50 years, so you should be able to learn alot from their experience and perhaps skip some years/stupid mistakes.

it very easy to change youre opinioin on things and even change youre perspektive when you get the advice from others, and its very hard to just read something and just see it objektivly. im not sayin that im better then anyone, but im still erning a living here

True it's easy to change your oppinion on things and that may be a good thing. In most cases I would say that an old pro's oppinion probably are better than yours.(no offence ment, dont know your game) But i just meen wouldnt it be better to accept advice from a pro like Doyle Brunson instead of pushing it away because it would change your game(probably in the right direction).
I gotta ask are u a pro?(earning a living?) If so we should chat more so u could teach me some tricks

what you say is true, but if you take advice from doyle, and follow it to hart, then when you meet him at the tables hell know exaktly how you play and you whont have a chance..
and no, i cant say that i am a pro, poker is more of an hobbie, if i whant to travel anywere i dont have to save for a year, i just play poker for a month or 2 but i cant say that i could make a living out of it, i cant handel myself that good

If I could get as good as Doyle Brunson I could live with the downside that he could beat me. But again he wouldn't cause u learn from him doesn't meen u play like him. Thats my point
