PokerStars Freeroll  0
Why is the blind structure so fast compared to the old Full Tilt freeroll's? No poker is played, its just a shove / fold boring lottery.

Turbo blind structure. If I can't shove I'll blind out.

I dont know the stucture in Poker Stars but i dont think so, that its much different from what were going on in Full Tilt. Maybe the whole story play got a little faster Smile

People go all in alot in freerolls because no one really cares about it.

The other guys are right, people don't go all in so often because of the freerolls are turbo, they go all in because they have nothing to lose...

This happens on all freerolls, not just on the pokerstars ones Blink It's true, you need tons of luck!

freerolls are like a bingo game..lucky wins..leaderboards freeroll are a litlle different after the middle off the tournament..but in the beggining all in is the key word ...so i think that s why the blinds are so fast..don t really like pokerstars because of that

Its 5 min blinds in Pokerstars and 10 min blinds at Party Poker.
Don´t know why it is that different, but for sure PS is more of a donkfest because of this structure.

Thank you the structure is faster meaning less play which surely is a bad thing?

This is true but in the Full Tilt freerolls because the structure was slower you could just sit out the early donkfest then play some poker which was much more fun.

If you don't know what the structure was i don't see how you can comment on it.

why even bother entering them if you don't want to play poker, try a bingo site or just flipping a coin if random chance is your thing.

I think the real question is,why do you play freerolls if you want to play "poker"?

turbo means u have to broaden your opening hand selection, stop being such nits and learn how to play post flop

Turbos are about preflop shoving and calling, not postflop play (because its almost impossible to beat the time of blinds going up in building your stack, plus others people's effective stacks are smaller as well which will result in preflop push/fold play by them as well)

I agree with Noisecore. People dom't have to pay, to play in the freeroll. When people don't risk any money, some of them like to play bingo.

im guessing this is something to do with it being a turbo? if it is ive had this discussion with a few people that say turbos are just donkfests but this is not the case and as ATM says shoving and knowing who and when to call and what with is alot to do with it. I do still think you can get a decent amount of flop play in turbos too, of course it matter who your in the hand against and the situation blinds stacks position ect. not to much different from a tourney with 10 15min blinds because it gets to a time in 10, 15 blinds that the blinds get to big and its a shove fest too and the blinds tend to be the same size against the same size of stacks it just happens quicker in a turbo.

I have dragged on a bit here but my point is there is alot of decent play in turbos just not as many hands which is fantastic in my eyes and who in there right mind wants to play a freeroll with 15min blinds Shock

@primitivo.
Why you think i cant comment.
I played in the Fulltilt leaderboard, i believe the number of entrants is the same, so the only thing that might be different is the time of blinds.
You think that the leaderboard in FT wasnt a bingo play at some point or all of it ? Smile
