Hi all
I remember I've seen a long time ago a study showing that women naturally bluffs better (whatever the skill they have then an edge on us concerning bluff ). So do you think it's true ? Or even that men better bluffs ? Or that it just depend on the player, whatever the sex ?

I really don´t know. I think deppens the skil more than the gender. In any way, there are much more men who play poker so maybe the best bluffers are in our side.l

well that's a debate with no clear answer i believe- the question probably should be formed in the following manner: "do women know that they are bluffing when they are just playing a normal game?" no seriously a women bluffs differently imo, they just play differently- i'm not saying better or worse, but different it is for sure...but that is the beauty of the game- everyone can play it and everyone can win it

No, no, no. You've got it all wrong, women buff better. Seriously, my floor has never had so much sheen to it.
Obviously I'd agree it's dependant on the player, but one thing I can say for sure is men take it harder when they're bluffed by women, eats away at the macho-ness.

unless it's published in a journal, most of the studies of these kinds are just biased/not representative or just magazine/media bs anyway regarding the question - i think bluffing is skill dependent not gender
If you look at online poker, I don't believe they have an edge, on the internet it's pure skill (and off course luck, for those who still believe bad beats are rigged by the pokersites )
In live poker I do believe they could have an edge if they play it smart. As a woman at the live tables you are usually the center of attention, they can very easily turn the atmosphere. When the lady acts very quiet and shy, the men usually think "I'll take that lady's money in no time" making it very easy to get extra value with the nuts (because the guy will keep on calling thinking "that lady has got nothing on my pocket JJ's" .
on the other hand when the girl steps into the casino with an attitude and very assertive all the men will be intimidated thinking "damn she has got some guts coming here challiging us "men" for a round of poker" giving here maybe a little bit to much respect when she 3bets preflop for the third time in a row.
the fact is a woman in a casino or a pokerden is not a familliar sight and (as usual) it's the woman who is able take control .<q

i'm with Darth on this one. I would have to believe bluffing pertains to how well he / she plays poker. I definitely think there's more skill to bluffing when playing live versus playing electronic poker. It take a lot more talent to sit amongst individuals and bluff.

I am sure naturally woman less bluff than man so when you bluff people thought you have really good card, lol, but, I think skill more decide than gender.

I just love to play with amateur women. I have some friends who like to play and, when I join them at a table, in some friends house, it always seem to be having a clime of sexual relation. Its like “ok, I fold now, but next time you will have me till the end” or “you really want to put the hand on my chips, you women are all the same”. Guys tend to try to distract others with a lot of talk. Girls put that nice eye like saying “I can be all yours if you let me take this pot”.

Of course, women lie better than men at all, although lie less when they lie are more accurate, then poker is the same way, when something is what it does, do better
