Hello to all who have ventured on to see what's up in my twenty four hour poker world!
My name... Cory but in the poker world i go by 98pokershark (stars) for now will leave pp id for later.
Ive decided to start this blog one to see if it helps improve my game/br management. and two to motivate me. I will be starting this forum off with a good old fashion brm pokerstars freeroll. its just about 1 am now here in toronto and i am eager to be able to actually post this as i hope to final table and ofcourse go for the gold.

BRM stars freeroll: Goal for tourny To play a tighter more controlled style and as awalys final table.
wow well this is just not a good start to my blog but i will continue as im sure some or most will find humor in the first post on my blog being an utter fail
For first five or so mins i was quite card dead. i pick up an ace three off on the button with two people limped into the pot. i raise and only the two limpers call. ace on flop and three on turn while betting fairly strong threw. long story short a duece falls on river giving the person i was left in with a straight with his 3 4 off i knew in the end i shouldnt have called his shove but sadly i did not show restraint as i had a large amount invested in that pot.
Well all i do hope i have some more exciting action to post about next post. good luck to all in your poker journeys please do come back again

Cool, will follow along - my aim this year is to start playing more professional and less for fun as I am finally understandig the game and strategy. I am a noob in comparision to most of you guys on here so this blog should help to learn and laugh! GL man

------------ As i was about to post about my 99 MTT daily tourny on hero and was blinded down and ran into an ace nine against my ace seven.... i will post a few of my long term goals instead

and most importantly way improve my bankroll management.

Alright one final goal very unlikely but who knows id love to play at a table with Daniel Negreanu.
01/05/12 Pokerstars: BRM freeroll 25 Goal: play as few hands as possible So just getting in the right frame of mind for upcoming brm freeroll. going to play an extremely tight game pretty much pocket pairs above 8 and good suited high cards for a good portion of the tournament. I feel i can do well and am pumped to if all goes well be able to post a final table finish.
so far no good I am down to a third of a starting stack due to quality starting hands not panning out and general blind chipping. need a hand soon or could be another dull post.
Finally picked up monster hand with blinds at 50/100 and me sitting with 400 chips i get the most beautiful looking pair of king ive seen (was giving up hope) ofcourse i shove and after seeing three callers i just close my eyes and pray. sitting with 1300 now praise be to the poker gods!!!
Well i gave it my best shot but sadlly the cards where quite dead had an AQ suited that was checked to river i put in small bet and lost to a jack five was shortly after left with 3 bbs and got ace jack suited on the bb. all in ofcourse and hit my jack on turn against someones pair of kings on flop.
Maybe the 9am will bode better for me as always mates see ya at the felt

------------ My spirits have been lifted! and just in time for my $200 dollar nlhe freeroll on hero. id like to give a shout out to arthur72 who made a terrific cash in a 2k guaruntee today and id like to think i had a good part in that hehe (as i was the one who got him on to heros) but yes well done my friend nice to see this morning.
Hero poker: NLHE $200 freeroll Starting with 2332 people. Goal: play a solid game aswell as hopefully a descent cash.
After hearing of arthurs success today i am ready to take this 200 dollar freeroll down! first hand played 4 3 checked it to flop in big. hit 10-4-10 rainbow bet small controller bets till river won showdown. sitting 293 out of 2124.
excellent double up shortly after dealt pocket kings on button all in shove UTG not likeing it ofcourse but make the call guy shows pocket jacks both of us hit the flop with a set so result would have been all in by end anyways. WOOOHOO. sitting 143 out of 1907 thanks goes out to arthur and poker gods this time he put the wind in my sails hehehe definately doing well enough for smoke break. (side note when ever im feeling like i might do something stupid cause of a good win i like to go out for a smoke to talk myself into keeping the quality of play where it should be) also kings again won small pot.
not really worth mentioning other then for the fact ive now had kings three times just picked up blinds this time. and shortly i am shot down to 1400 A-10 vs J-9 flop comes with nine. sitting 515 out of 1204 eek. mid way goal now to win one pot a round even if just blinds.
WHY OH WHY DOES THE ACE ALWAYS COME ON THE RIVER.
Well guys the kings got the best of me.. sitting with just over ten big blinds i very foolishly pre flop shove end up against two aces so only two left and ofcourse the ace comes on river. out 1045th. gonna play a plo now will post if i cash in it.
------------ on a side note i was watching the january 1st online poker show guy who hit the flop while all in heads up for the sunday million gets knocked out by ace on river as well. if interested the freeroll to this tourny is coming up in a couple hours and the password is akkari
------------ alright so the plo was a post had a DBBP at the table. and like always he beat me two pair on flop against his top pair he pairs the turn and boats the river.
got to go deliver some papers for a mate takes an hour or so and i get a gram for doing it so ya no 9 am today but will be back and will continue on the 24hr grind while keeping up with my new habit (this blog)

Hero poker PLO freeroll Goal: To be able to post a successful first PLO post. Game plan:Tight play against the large amount of DBBPs that play these. then open up after bubble (final four)
So after a few hands of not much action on my part couple small wins and losses. I pick up 5 6 10 K normally i would throw this trash straight away but i decided to limp with this, a guy as he had been doing pots it so i re raise from his 45 to 115 ofcourse he pots it again i flat and then the magic happens FLOP: J K K his raise my shove. CHA-ching Turn: irrelevent River: K sitting with just over 5k well off for playing it to final.
Not much to report just that the DBBP who doubled me is finaly out in 16th. im sitting in 5th atm.
easy fish doubles me up one hand and then i knock him out two hands later to put me in 2nd out of 11... only 5 more people to go till final table oh and top 4 get payed but i want that 2.50 lmfao
down to final nine sitting in second again after a nicely played flopped two pair. got great value out of it while keeping it a manageable sized pot cause as anyone who plays PLO knows flopped two pair is not super quality. got 12k chip stack now which out of a 60k total amount of chips is not to bad.
After a few very nice hands with not very big pots including a KKQQ hitting a boat on turn as well as a few nice flopped sets. we were at the final table (6 peeps) im sitting with a stack of 16.5k in first. reminding my self that i am waitng till final four to open up and let lose on these guys. i play a very tight first couple rounds of final table.
HUGE HAND: Heads up after the flop with chip leader and im not far behind him (bout 2k behind) i flopped two pair 6s and 5s... i bet bout 2/3 pot he auto calls turn brings me the boat another 6 woohoo. i bet 1100 oh btw he has been acting before me this whole time check calling till this. he bets pot about 6k i re shove for 15k he auto calls and bam im sitting way in first with 33k. (this 3k over half chips in play)
oh yes he also shoves his 2k stack in the next hand against my KKXX. down to five.
so i take a smoke break cause ya half the chips in play im freaking have a nice long smoke after all i am folding pretty much everything and every time im in the bb i get a walk.
well as i said when final four came i changed gears and was pretty much scooping ever pot. ended up knocking out the short stack with two pair aces and kings which was runner runner! oh the good old PLO.
Shortly after im heads up with 50k against 9k stack after knocking out guy in second i had made a pot size bet for 3500 he reshoved for 10k ended up i hit the flop with my duece and he had nothing and my second duece on the turn sealed the deal.
obviously a very short heads up match second hand heads up he pots it to 3k i re pot it to 9k which he shoves then for another 203
Final hand: J Q J K board comes completely dead he has like gut shot on flop but nothing comes the pair of sevens on board with my jacks take the win

------------ Quick update: two 1.10 dollar tournys played on hero tonight first 45 people went out when AJ suited hit top pair with jack against a set of sevens. eek
second: king nine with short stack in for bb call raise to 100 from 40 flop top pair with a pot almost as big as my stack board is like K-4-8 rainbow. i shove first to act and close my eyes... heard alot of action in the headphones and opened to see i was out turnned out one guy had K-5 off and hit five on river. playing the brm now although i have had alot of bad timing and bad luck in that tourny. will post if worth reading the results to the brm.

------------ Not much action tonight unlucky in the brm as usual dont even remember what happen it was early in the tourny i made right move DBBP wins as always lmfao same chit different day.
Goal set for this session: Build 15$ + bankroll playing only PLO freerolls on hero.
Just a few thoughts on PLO i find it to be a game of twists and turns alot of swings if not playing a quite solid game. I like to play a very tight game for the first part of the tournament only changing gears one hand here and there. near the end while blinds are high if youve played solid all game you will be able to steal blinds get walks and build a solid chip stack to go for the gold.

Well i was hoping to be able to post about a final table in the 200 dollar freeroll on hero but sadly i was bubbled 29th out of 2600 only 5 away from the money was really dissapointed when i was given AK on the big blind with only small blind and me in i shoved with it ofcourse and ofcoure his 9 3 offsuit hit a 3 and his stupid god damn three held just my luck tonight has been constant bending over and taking it up the ass tonight. maybe i have something better to post about when i play BRM in a little bit
------------ i dont know about you but even if the guy has 3 big blinds left (me at the time) and its just me and him in the pot im giving him a walk when i hold 9 3 off every time./... what the hell happened to poker

Keep building a bankroll in Sngos mate they are good to build up....I mean if ever you wish to get up in higher limits you have to take ya time be patient and get a nice sizeable BR

ya but i mean to get knocked out five people before the money by a hand that rightfully should have folded and gave you a walk it just seems to happen to often

Take the good with the not so good, that's poker and when you are comfortable and can control your emotions which is also a big part of the game then you will over come any bad beats. Chin up and keep grinding.
------------ I know taking a beating is hard to come by but if you can control the way you think and play and combine the two together then the world is your oyster, sure its tough and I know but I see it like this. If I lose preflop AA vs 22 then thats just bad luck I take it on the chin and carry on I hope that helps you in some way feel better. Cya on the tables.

I decided to start tonight off with a bang! I'm going for quantity tonight i.e as many freaking free rolls as i can play!!!! mo tourny mo money!!!
Will report back later on tonight with progress but for now here is a list of the freerolls ill be playing:
Pokerstars: BRM 25 dollar freeroll (5 pm est,9pm est,1am est), PSO skills league (5pm est,9pm est,1am est) maybe throw in a hubble at ten for 2k ticket
Hero: PLO freerolls all night!!!!!(as many as i can shove in there), MTT $99 daily, Micro hero $30 guarantee, $200 PLO freeroll, $200 NL holem freeroll (possible a couple), Triumvirate hero $100, later on the other $99 and $100.
So i hope this goes well and i hope i can make a descent bank roll on both stars and hero. will let everyone know how it goes and post about any interesting hands.

Just an quick update on the progress: I have been busted out of quite a few of the tournys im playing had some rough tournys but luckily i pulled off a nice 9 dollar first place in the 30 dollar guarantee so i have have a nice little chunk to play with on hero.
it was an epic battle at the final table where i started in third i pretty much ran the whole table with good plays excellent folds (with a little wink of an ace) and well timed bluffs i was heads up with about even stacks.
the heads up much was short and sweet three hands i had the advantage then i hit top pair with a queen jack and to top it off i have queen high flush draw. we end up all in on flop and he is drawing slim to none with his second pair and weaker flush draw. cha ching save turn and river and the nine is mine
will be playing the brm and pso tonight on stars to try and gain some momentum there and not to mention get on leader board.
as for hero will be entering in a few MTTS or maybe just one to start.

not all of us can win a big 2k gauruntee arthur lmfao. but yes i like hero poker aswell i plan on building a cash out on there as well as pokerstars if i ever get a br on there again lmfao.

Well after an unsuccessful brm freeroll, as per usual i was off to hero to play until the next brm on stars. i have a few of the $200 freerolls as well as the $99 MTT to play in a little while along with the PLO freerolls.

Little update: Was doing well in the touraments i was in but received a call from my friend matt who wanted to smoke some mary jane at my place ... needless to say i am back and ready for my 8 and 9 pm est tournaments however was blinded out of the rest lmfao
Goal tonight is to achieve 75 dollar bankroll on hero by playing both SnG PLOs and the scheduled freerolls(list below)
Touraments for tonight are: Stars brm's and pso's and for hero as per usual lots of SnG PLOs as well as the triumvirate $100(2), MTT $99 and one maybe two $200 freerolls.
