This is an excerpt from my blog. ill be trying to document the hands i play and big laydowns. I hope this isnt thought of as a double post. ill be adding to my blog but would like to use this to encourage any discussion.
So ill try something new and blog about a game im in. Right now im sitting in a couple games. ive upped the buy-in to $3.30 for a 5K gtd tourny. it's a rebuy event but im looking to tighten up my rebuy allotments. Which is kind of why i decided to make this blog. im also in the 1$ frenzy 3k gtd rebuy.
I am going to try and keep a relatively up to date account of the 1$ game. ive been playing it really tight and havent indulged in any of my usual antics so far. heck as i write this i just folded KQ utg +3. Which in early stage rebuy or this game anyways is uber tight. for me anyways... the reason im playing tight and documenting each critical hand is to be able to look back after and asses my play and find spots i could have done things differently.
so here goes. im sitting with 11285 42 mins till addon and blinds are a hefty 200/400 already.

The risk if play tight at early MTT or s n g is no have enough chips when blind to be high. we will trap in all in or fold phase ( but you good in the situation ). Play loose is more valuable for me

correct serpang.
but i think playing tight is better overall.
loose play means more hands. more times u risk chips and more times u need to make decisions. any hand u arent chip leader in can mean death.
playing tight means less hands but better chance because hands are better. less u risk chips and easier the decisions. Also an added bonus many things happen while you wait. people play hands and go out. get tilted and blow off chips. many good things.
i think the best poker is a blend of both styles. i know ive seen enough familiar names in the top 20 of every game regularily and those players all play passive aggresive poker.
ne ways thanks for the reply serpang and best of luck as always!

That's important info for me. we need change gear, right ? so, I am more sure to play tight . Normally , my style is tight but many time disappointed me when I had poor chips after 1st or 2nd break. But tight aggressive, isn't it ? except you create a trap.

Interesting subject this one, I like to play passive/aggressive and very tight in some MTT but if I am in a rebuy I get my chips in fast aggresive play draws more players into the pot. When I first join which is usually a late registration 5 mins from closing I quickly rebuy get my chips in and most times go into the end of the rebuy with triple or quadruple my stack. It amazes me how you can get chips quickly then play tight and make the but thats just my take on things

If you portray a tight image then you wont be called as often with draws in late stages. Then you can open your range in late stages and semi bluff blinds. I know players who dont even bother playing most hands early simply because the blinds are worth it.
