I don't think there's a "right or wrong way". Each players progress is going to be different, and holding yourself to anyones standards but your own is a setup for failure. The chris ferguson challenge was really just something fun he did, and while sure it can be inspirational, what most people fail to recognize is he's a PRO and it still took him almost a year to do it.
Beginners should be focused on improving their skills, not how much money they are winning/losing.
no this is not the correct way if your new to poker, imo he did this as a challenge cause the money ment nothink to him playing the high stakes, and wanted a target to achive in his poker life,
if your new to poker get a nodeposit bonus from here, its a long road starting with zero and just playing freeroll to build a bankroll, dont expect to build your roll straight away there loads of ups and downs, but a no deposit bonuse help also its not your money your losing if it goes wrong

Enjoy the challenges myself and sure wish I would have tried for the nodeposit myself, but missed out due to not sticking with BRM for a few months after "Black Friday". Big mistake on my part since I missed out by signing up with a sight that BRM supports which once signed you can't go back. Good Luck to All!
