Two days ago, some lucky players at a $1/$2 Limit Hold'em table got to share a bad beat jackpot of amazing $1 million on the Merge Gaming Network (Carbon Poker etc). Seventy percent of the jackpot was distributed to the table. The one who lost the hand, "Eulson", received amazing $355k, the winner of the hand, "123maryc", received over $177k, and the remaining players at the table got more than $2[...] Read more » $1 Million Bad Beat Jackpot Awarded on Merge Network

wow thats just super duper awesome- imagine winning $335k for nothing, lmfao those jackpot tables are worth it imo, of course it is a rare thing to happen, but i am sure that one win in a lifetime is totally enough, and considering the stakes they were playing, dude prob had something like $10k in their accounts max, and now this, just awesome

That's because unless you're playing at a casino or on a network with a jackpot, than it's a guaranteed loss (who folds quad 7's or better, no matter what the board looks like?). I know you're just kidding but also take into account that in such cases, you still lose the pot, despite scooping the majority of the jackpot paid out.
I would also like to know what hands were involved here . . . disappointed it wasn't included in the article.

Hi guys!!
355k for a badbeat is a nice amount. And 2k for see the badbeat in a good gift, too!! Mmmm, some sitout or waiting blinds player in the table? If i was i instant-tilt.

I believe no one plays at Merge Gaming Network to see if he manages to get the hand on a part of the bad beat jackpot. With so many restrictions the probability of playing or being in a table where one of the few hands that fills all this conditions, with the minimum number of necessary players in the table and the minimum rake generated, must be too low. I guess the only times that were played hands good enough for the bad beat jackpot but that didn’t filled all other conditions were in tables with lack of players. That amount of rake must always be reached, taking in consideration both players think they will win the hand. Even though, it sure is a very nice attractive. If those guys were playing $1/$2, they probably have good bankrolls, but $25k plus is always nice to receive.

Posted by Macubaas: lol i would also be curious to see how hem or pt3 would see this kind of action while playing on carbon poker
Still, as we saw in the article it isn't that easy to win such a bad beat jackpot...
It's not a "win" . . . as I mentioned, you still lose the pot, and the bonus is transferred by the administration directly into your bankroll. Thus, the tracking software would track it as a standard loss (well, a win for the person with the best hand). The bonuses would not be tracked, much like play-through bonuses.
