An American player returns.....  0
Hey there Mobster's,
Been a long time, probably 6 months since I've been to the site. Black Friday has been something of an upheaval of how I spent my days in 2011. For the first five months I played live rarely & online frequently for micro stakes working on leaks in my game. For the next 7 months following Black Friday, I left the computer monitor & struck out for more live play. My results have varied. I finished 2011 about break even. Alas I must say I miss playing online in the comfort of my own home, I miss blogging about poker & talking strategy with players from around the world. With that being said I make my illustrious return to Bankrollmob, to at least begin again one of the former mentioned hobbies. I made vast improvements in my game in 2011, but as I start 2012 I feel as though I'm missing an essential tool in developing my game. The online poker community. You see the internet has shed light on a once back-alley, counterculture & connected us, worldwide. I found that I made the most improvements in my game in 2011, early in the year while still paying online & blogging. After Black friday though, I just sort of fell out of the habit of blogging as I was busy trying to chase down decent live games & tournaments. So as I suffer through a rough month of january I decide to comeback to where I began to see some vast improvements to the leaks in my game. My fellow Mobster's. This will hopefully be the first of many more threads to come. Some of the topics I hope to write about our most definitely live play cash games & tournaments, my live results, game choice, table image, & pretty much anything I feel blogging about may help my own game. So stay tuned mobster's 7 until next time. Good Luck on the felt. Evil

Wow, nice and welcome back to you hoodi.
Hope you are doing well.
So at what site do you play now ? Carbon ?
I guess the merge network is one of the best options nowadays for US players.

Welcome back hoodi.
After seeing the US players returning in BRM site i hope that the same thing will happen
with Full Tilt Smile Since after the US messed up everything we all hope things will get better
soon.
Not so sure though after seeing all those upcoming regulations in Europe.

Anyways welcome back once more and good luck at your tables.

Not playing online currently as I said before I have been mainly playing live. Which only a few years ago is all I would play. I miss playing in my pajama's,multi-tabling,any stake you want to play, & game's 24 hours a day. I miss online poker. I've been avidly reading poker player newspaper regarding The Department of Justice(DOJ) & their ever changing stance on online poker, & where our government is with legalizing and regulating. Some articles are hope full that The States will work something out in 2012, but with it being an election year I have a feeling this problem won't even be addressed until 2013. I have been contemplating starting to play on Carbon as I just read in a Card Player Magazine article that US players can still play there. Most Americans are fear full of keeping any kind of substantial bankroll online. After what happened on Black Friday who can blame them? One of my previous backers has 7000$ stuck on FullTilt, which he holds out hope to get back. I have my doubts. I will be starting a thread with some of my live play as I have been playing a lot. Played a 300$ WSOP Ring Event in Jan in LA @ The Bike, it was a decent experience for the 20 min I was in. This will be discussed further in my live thread. anyhow thanks for all the welcome back's. Hopefully I am here to stay, with online poker for americans following shortly after. Until next time Mobster's. Evil

I have wondered about you and BMWman since being back at BRM. I was on the down and out shortly after "Black Friday" so I understand your feelings to some degree.

I must say once I started reading and socializing in the forum again I soon had the urge to find an on-line site to play on. Currently at Crabon which BRM supports and has a bonus offer. Of course I joined prior to investigating this option, but happy to be playing again.

I did lose my BR at FT, but there are some glimmers of hope. Like to add that BRM / the Mobsters has been good medicine for me so stick around and enjoy it. Good Luck to All!

hey dude how would you generally compare live play versus online- i somehow believe that for the higher stakes only live games are a safe option- after full tilt's story came out i just do not see any online operators are safe- no one knows how they are using the funds, where the money flows, and will you get your cash back when you decide to cashout Sad

Not sure how sticky cashing out online will be, I plan to find out. Post-"Black Friday" online bankrolls seem to be much smaller, so I imagine the high stakes games online have dried up a bit. Players are understandably much more cautious in how much they will leave online after the whole Full Tilt debacle. Personally I haven't looked around. I used to stalk some of the high stakes tables back in the day, just because i was an action junky, but haven't recently. I gave them(FT) a rave review on this site(BRM), only to later find out they were the most crooked site(FT) out there. I have fallen in love all over again with certain aspects of live play, while I have noticed some things that bother me about it that didn't before online poker.
I have been working a lot on table image which isn't really possible online, tournament selection, bankroll management, keeping detailed records(a lot harder than clicking a button), ect. I have actually been playing for a living for the past 3 months(though not doing the best, about break even) Live games are tough when it comes to higher stakes, sometimes a 1-2 game can get pretty frisky, especially if you have a deep stacked table where the straddle is on . I've played in some 1-2 games, that were secretly 1-2-4 games, the fish just didn't know. I like a 1-2 game with 3-5K in play they're not always that juicy though. A lot of American online player's have begun venturing out into the live scene, I've met quite a few. I've also noticed the fields have gotten a little tougher than before "BF", in both cash games & tourneys. The highest I've played live so far is 5-5 cash wise, just don't have the roll to move up any further yet. I've made a new campaign for 2012 to really improve my game, both live and online. I have a feeling when the laws do get corrected here in the states, we're going to see a poker boom even bigger than the "Moneymaker Boom"
I will begin playing online again soon, just blogging for now. When I do you can bet the roll I keep online will be small until I feel safer. I don't know if i really answered any of your questions, but you have given me some good ideas for new threads.

Cool Cool
