wow 15 year old and robbing a casino, worse ended up killing a man. most likely life imprisonment for him now, plenty of time to think for his actions
sad for the guy who got killed, but why did he take the risk against two armed men

Don't get me wrong, that is horrible what happened. But it is pretty stupid to try and be a hero.. Who cares - it's only money - definitely not worth risking your life for.. If you're ever getting robbed/mugged and you think they're buffing/won't do it - don't risk it. Just hand it over and move on.

Have to agree with Jess there, why are you going to risk your life over money? It's not as if he risked his life to save people from a burning building or whatever, he tried to foil a robbery and paid the ultimate price. Gotta wonder what kind of home life a kid has to be robbing a casino at 14. FFS Sad

I don’t remember reading this one year ago. I remember some robberies (at least two) during poker events, but not with such a tragic ending. What kind of thoughts pass through a 14 year old boy to do something like this? I know it’s easy to get a weapon in Ontario, and that a 14 year old kid that shoots a weapon can’t realize immediately the consequences of what he’s doing, but it always let me thinking about how different can people and kids be depending on their cultural learning.

all about money, but if they didnt have the money in the poker room nothing happens...always a lost of money atracts a lots of problem so could be better to learn something from this, to not keep the money in the poker room where are all the players

Its always frustrating seeing something like this from all points of view.
I definitely agree with jessthehuman no matter what it doesnt worth risking your life for money.
You know people for whole your life and you dont know how they will react under some circumstances and you see a stranger threatening your life with a gun and having a go at him betting that wont do it?
Terrible, terrible mistake.

I could not give a better advice... The robbers don't have to shoot anyone and they know it, so don't give them a reason to. As simple as that.

Well done for Nedd, he had balls. But not for that money Nedd, you only have to fight to dead for what its yours. No one will take anything from me. I had one knife injury from a robber. In Argentina we are struggling to take the 12-16 year old thiefs to prison. The law allows them to kill anyone because they can´t be judge because of their age. I thought the kids were robbing only here... but it´s happening all around the world.

hmmm sry to hear this. Well I work as a detective in a clothing store. They say we should never risk our health but its not so easy. 1 thing very often leads to another and I have then often found myself fighting aganst 2 guys, that stole a jacket which wasnt even mine. I also dont earn more when I catch 1.

The world is full of sadness and 90% of the sadness comes from greed or someone who didn't have good parents. Not to blame the kids actions on other things or other people, but it's the sad truth. I hope both families can heal from the harshness.
