The Englishman Berry Danson will try to get a world record by playing poker for 5 days without a break. The attempt will most probably take place this summer at a casino in Manchester, UK and Danson will have to play for 120 hours straight, with small breaks when he needs to eat and use the bathroom. The current Guinness World Record holder is no one else than Phil Laak who played live poker for [...]   Read more » Berry Danson's crazy world record attempt: play poker for 5 days straight.

Beating a world record is something crazy but very nice. If Guinness recognizes this record, this guy will be earning money till his record is beaten. I once read that Guinness World Record Book pays $1,200 per month to the record holders till someone beats it. Sure is a nice incentive to go after something we think we can do.

no sure if this is the case- you may be right, but i doubt it- if so then anyone would be after some stupid records, since it is not that hard to figure out doing something that hasn't been tried before, or something that wasn't tried to a very professional level at least- i imagine playing for 5 days is something boring at first, not to mention physically tough

Now thats an really interesting record, still i think it's easier to set such a record than to break randy lew's online record...

I mean live you'll play a lot less hands compared to online so you can rest between hands.

i think if he can resist 5 days without sleeping 5 days, probably will spent 1 week in hospital for recovering himself, cause to not sleep 5 days .... it's not good.

5 days straight, crazy guy Big Smile

Is he allowed to drink energy drinks, coffee and stuff to keep him awake? Some people don't sleep much in their daily lives. I bet this guy trained for it, or he wouldn't be attempting it. Playing poker live and staying awake must be much harder than behind a computer screen though, so good luck to him!

it something for not sleeping 5 days but if u are drinking coffee or energy drinks u can stay wake, but this isn`t the problem. Will be in GUINNESS BOOK, but how he will play 5 days in a ro without sleeping break, that is a problem.Because i think almost everybody can play 5 days in a row just with small breaks but who can play concetrate this time?
For that i will put prize on it

I wish him good luck with his record attempt, five days staying awake is a difficult task on its own.

the record terms states he can take a 5 min break every hour but he can save his 5 mins to build up time for a bigger break, the terms are the same as phil laaks record.

I actually thought abit more over this record breaking attempt and i think that it's easier to break such a record compared to randy lew's online record...

I mean mentally it's a lot hard to play a ons of hands that stay aweak for so long, still it would really be impressive!
