Winter Million on Party Qualifier Disaster  0
Big Smile

So I´ve been trying to qualify for the Winter Million on Party tonight.
Played it twice, cashed once.

Started with the Winter Million Special on friday night after qualifying in the week for that one.

Then, played SO many qualifiers:

$15 - qualified for the $70 one
$1 rebuys -Qualified for the 33$ rebuy
$1 direct seat (1 seat guaranteed) - came in 39th

$8 qualifier for the $88 one -busto
$12 qualifiers...busto
on and on..........and on........

From this morining 09:00 GMT until now.

Suckout after suckout..hours and hours of play...

Result: NADA! Cool

AA held up only once (3-4 allins in most qualifiers so they were hitting straights, trips, you name it.) Never seen so many Full Houses. Even lost one qualifier to a better Full.
Was in top or first often, but just NO go.
Horrible.

Getting busted just before the $640 seat over and over... Aww crap! Aww crap! Aww crap!

NOT Tilting, but man this hurts. Aww crap!

It´s a frenzy on Party with all-ins the norm. Crazy stuff, but I was doing well in many up to the wire, and no prize for "playing well" unfortunately.

Pffff...just venting....

No Winter Million for me today.... Sad
And $50-$60 down...

Anybody actually make it?
NO ! don´t tell me! I don´t want to know. Sad

not realy for me it's the other way i got the feeling that i get better hands on party poker then on pokerstars i have the feeling that the cards on partypoker are more realistic how they give the cards when you play on pokerstars you lose so much whit the strongest hands but if you ask me pokerstars is still better then party poker more choiche less waiting

good luck next time islandjack

Hi guys.

Very sure there is no difference between sites in terms of the crads you get dealt.
It just often seems that way.

The difference lies in the players and what they go in with.
Party is a Big site with a large variety of players from very good to very bad.
When you know the odds for AKo vs 32o is 64% vs 34%, that means 23 will win 1 out of 3 allins, you understand how small these odds differences can be.

The "feeling" comes purely from the players at your table and what they do.

Horrible players will hit seemingly incredible hands...but they are not REALLY that incredible.
Good players fold "garbage", so the odds of seeing strange results diminishes.

I can be in the same Tournament on Party, and at a "good table, the hands seem "normal.
Table switch to a bunch of Donks, and the results "seem unlikely".

Some advice:

When you have a "Big Stack Donk" at your table who seems to hit everything he goes in with, just check his Stats on Intenet.
You´ll only see numbers in the RED. Often HUGE numbers in the red. Like -$3.500 or -$24.000.....really.
Makes you realise they are very much losing players on a relatively short roll, and that their way of playing loses in the long run, as it should. Blink
They almost never make the money.

Site to site, the only difference is the players, and Party is a big site with a huge difference in ability. So is Pokerstars.
But then again, table to table, the "impression" that there is a card difference can hit you on ANY site.

That´s why i often check stats.
Really makes you see that there is no difference, only in the players and what they do or go in with.

Do this, and you´ll feel better about where you´re playing. Blink
It can be Damn irritating and frustrating though...ergo my post. Smile

I saw you playing there the other day. I finished 14th, I did not sit at the same table, but was keeping an eye on the other table, and recognized your avatar.

I qualified twice that week, but was surprised, not to get any tournament dollars, for the second one. It is just a qualifier for another freeroll worth $0,-... (didn't get close to the $640,- in that one).

Do you also play the 50 seat frenzy? It has better value, since you get $15,- with the same amount of players. It is actually easier (won twice last month), but you have to stay up late (starts 0:30)...

As for the amount of suck outs, I attribute this to it being freerolls. It never occurred to me that this might be different on any other site.

Well I also tried to qualify, but only through country specific freerolls.
Iwas 2times very close to get a ticket for the Winter million special, but busted out on 11th and 13th place Aww crap! (ten got a ticket).
After these I gave up trying...

That happened to me lots of times. What helped with me, is to just stop playing when you've got 10% or more of the total chips in play. Let the really big stacks take care of small ones. I've folded AA, KK etc, just knowing that I had done enough, for finishing top 10.

It is usually a monster hand like that, that gets you busted in 11th, when there was no real need to play it...

ok since you want the answer- no you will not make it...lol did it get any better...prob you will make it, but only if you are gonna invest way more than the actual buy-in...these qualifiers are so rigged inho... i strongly believe that some dude from the ones who are connected in any way to the organizers wins the package/qualifies for main event Angry

Most weren´t freerolls.
If you read the post again, I was playing $15, $12,$1 rebuys..etc...
Definitely only 1 freeroll, the Million sppecial on friday.
So the suckouts where just because it was so agressive, especially on sunday from morning till afternoon before the Million. Alllins almost every hand from at least 2+ players. Crazy stuff.
Only the $15 one was less agressive, until we got closer and closer, of course.

I play the 50 seat Frenzy once in a while for the 200K (hate that it´s a saturday, so don´t play much).
Qualified twice. Got $215 tournament dollars the second time because I still haven´t played the 200K.
Good tournament though, with a decent chance to place.
Still have a ticket left for that one.

So does this mean you played the Winter Million?
If you did, how was it? Place in the money? Smile

Tough one. Confused
Busted out in 1000th first time, made it to 100th the second time and cashed nice.
Keep trying that one. Worth it if you make it through the bubble. Usually starts around 200th for $1.200, I think.

Don´t give up! Blink

Yo Issie 1976,well i think the same way like you do,but maybe u win there more hands there coz
by party poker specialy the freerolls is whit 10 players,if i play there i play whit crap en often i win
but last time i won a few $ but after that i got an email whit the message that they took the prize money just bcoz i didn't deposit money in the last 6 months, but i like PS more then party poker,if i win some or lose some money, maybe that this is a think issue, and the for me personly the software looks better ,and the lobby off PS is simpel and easy to understand then Partypoker, exp
u play a satelite by party poker,u hardly dont see or cant see/find the target event, and by pstar u
have in the satelite the ID number to see what the next round is,whit the players name and the date and time,it looks better and it's formillior, like womans the one is better then the other !!!
i hope u get my point!! bye Indo36M

Me too (the $15.- one that is). I want win it again, before using it, for the tournament dollars. I qualified twice before, but didn't get anywhere in the Saturday tournament; Maybe its a little bit too much for me at this point, since I've only stumbled into poker 18 month ago. I'd rather have tournament dollars, to play more $1 and $2 buy in tournaments.

So does this mean you played the Winter Million?

No, just won the freeroll 3 times, but didn't win the $640 ticket (not even close). I still have 1 ticket left, I think. My bankroll is not big enough yet for tournaments with more than $2,- buy in, and I'm not going to deposit (I want to see if I can build a bankroll without ever depositing).
