Good try lene. Don't forget share your experience when you make progress Smile Do you frustrating play poker or scracthcard ? lol. If scracthcard is the same with slot, unbelieveable if we will win in long term. If poker, 3 years no reason for frustrating, I think.

Good luck next

Fear not. There are so many areas for us all to improve the worse you are the faster you improve. Start with starting hands and table position for one. Another thing i personally found important was bet size. Do you dive with good cards? If so then you are losing more then you could if proper betting was adopted.

Start with those two areas. Playing in micro stakes or even mid stakes games ensure craziness ensues due to other players gambling against you with marginal hands.

Tell us some of your trouble areas and we will be sure to chime in! Smile

happy St Valentines Day!!

Oh snap a question i can honestly say i know the answer too Blink

FOLD!

King comes ur out kicked. 2 comes your no good. Easy peasy mac and cheesy Smile

Id recommend reading up on starting hands. Best information one can learn. For example if you have 55 utg (first to act in the hand on flop) you should fold in standard games. Reason being is your hand cant stand up to any action after you act. u have 55 and just call say. next to act raises and for a tidy sum. Are you ahead? does he have you crushed? Both questions you cannot answer with any certainty. So you can call his raise sure but if you dont see a five what do you do on flop? what if flop comes 223? are you ahead? See the dilemma?

So the coaches suggest at least having certain hands in certain spots because overall you would be ahead in those spots or at least able to play comfortably.

This isnt to say there arent times you cant deviate given you know something that mitigates the situation in your favor. Say if you have xx on the button but you know bb is tight. You can adjust accordingly but now its on you if you fail. You cant blame theory for your loss.

Nothing like my frustration. Big Smile
5 days in a row now i m running deep in 3k GTD tournament playing over 3-4 hours just to end up with 3-5 $ and a massive frustration. (around 50-150th position in 6000 player field).
Here is sample of it:
130 players left in 3k GTD i get 44. Guy calls my raise flop comes 4 5 9. Guy raises i shove to protect my hand from flush or straight draw and hoping he has an overpair. He calls i'm in rage watching his pocket 9s. Aww crap!

Cheers and gl in school Cool

K2 is an easy fold. The only times where you maybe play this hand, if it's suited, and you have position, and the blinds are still small, and a lot of people limped in before you. Then maybe you can hit a flush cheaply.

Maybe if you observed that your opponent(s) are loose passive, you might play it, once in a while...

Also in Heads Up I usually bet this hand.

A break in poker never hurts.
Take a break of poker tables completely for a few days to relax.
Then review your played hands from history and see what you could do to improve your play.
There are members here who can give you valuable advices.
After that you can hit the tables fresh again and with more wisdom in poker play than before Smile

Like marqis says, mostly.

K2 is a horrible hand because it is not the K that counts but the combination of both cards mostly.
Your "Kicker" is a 2.

If you have a K2, and opponent has a K9, a K hits the flop, you bet, he wins.
Very basic stuff explained simply, but K2 is a horrible hand, unless suited, and even then depends on position etc..
Poker is a complicated game.

I will be VERY honest.
If you do not understand this after 3 years of playing, you will never win at Poker. Ever.
I don´t says this to be mean, I say this seriously to save you a lot of aggravation.
Whatever you have won has obviously been luck.

But if you really want to keep trying, follow the course, like you said at first.
Good Luck!

Personally I fold K,2 all the time. Once in a while if it's my BB or suited I may play, but there's a lot better hands that you need to focus on. There is some really good literature throughout the forum on micro SnG's. Also read poker strategies here in BRM. I wanted to find a post by Island Jack pertaining to SnG's. I promise if you read that thread and abide by what it tates you'll improve your game by 75%. Search back through all the old threads and watch some of the Mobsters vids and find post that provide advice. Good Luck!

I believe Micro could provide some good advice if you describe what your discrepancies are.

Okay lenefalbe, I found a post from Island Jack pertaining to SnG's, but it will help your overall game if you abide. Read the thread "Quick SnG ...Re-Up by Island Jack should be on this page of threads.

indead poker strategy is very important.
K-2 is a very bad hand

The value of your pocket hands depends also on your position on the table.
Even the number of players at the table is an important factor, HU you play more hands than at a 6 player table and at a 10 player table you should play even less hands.

So this means in my play :
A-10 in early position is a fold at a 10 player table
A-10 in late position at the same table with no action in front of me is a raise.

So your play should not only be influenced by your starting hands

Greek players are donks and are as good at poker as their economy which we all know how that's going. Most people from Greece play on borrowed money that they cant repay back because they are degenerate gamblers which is typical of people from this nation. It is considered normal for people from Greece to borrow money and not repay as their government has shown. So just take this guys advice with a grain of Salt.

I dont personally mind playing with these Greek donks however what i don't like so much is playing Greek donks who have borrowed money they cant pay back to others to play online. This is representative of 99.9% of the population who plays poker and it does not feel good to take money from someone like this.

Football chant which i changed the words of to describe the nation and its people:
Pay up GREECE PAY UP! PAY UP GREECE PAY UP! YOU BORROW MONEY YOU DONT FUCKING HAVE AND REFUSE TO PAY UP BECAUSE YOUR FUCKING PIGS! YOUR PLAYERS ARE DONKS WHO CONSTANTLY SUCKOUT BECAUSE YOUR FUCKING ALL S**T!

Are you sure you play for 3 years and you don't know what to do to K2? I would recommend, if you really wanna be a poker player, get some information. Not from pokerstars school please.. only thing there is the freerolls which are crap, and the only thing you will learn there is to coinflip and see who's luckier. Go read some books watch some videos aswell, and then try to reproduce what you've learnt. First do it by the book and when you feel confortable enough mix it up a bit with your own ideas and feelings.

I recommend you start with harrington on hold'em which is a very good book all around and i think will help you alot.

That's pure theory! it doesn't matter what pocket pair you have, you MUST adjust to the players on the table and of course, to the position. i have won so many many many hands with speculative and marginal hands that i've lost count, rather than premium hands. you cannot wait for premium hands or you'll be eated alive by the blinds or you will make no more than 10 dollars a day. The golden rule is to adjust to the players at the table, the cards matter less, i speak it from 3 years experience.

------------
Listen Buddy! Smile my advice is that sometimes, you Must forget all the theory about starting hands or size bet. the most important rule, to make some money, is to adjust to the players at the table. the cards matter less, the position is very important BUT, you can win every hand that you jump in if you accord your game to the players. the hell, you can jump in even with 7 2 off, if you have learned the game of the opponents. if you wait for the premium hands you will Not make some money! a premium hand could come out 1 of 100 hands, remember.. The position and the weakness of the players are the most important tactics. of course, the bet size too, do you want to be call? do you want to induce a raise? do you want to scare another player out of the pot? learn the odds on the flop, on the turn and on the river, learn the pot odds and forget sometimes of the starting hands. you won't make some money if you are waiting for them to come. the best way to win is to leave aside the worries of the pot size, learn the players game, at that table, and play like you have the nuts. the experience will bring to you everything you need to be a "moneymaker". Smile

------------
"Buddy, you are an idiot!" that's what the great P. Hellmuth told so many times at a poker table. Smile no, why are you hating so much the greek people? what harm have they done to you? Smile have you learned something at a school? they are the parents of the civilized nations. the have created the Arts, the Psihology, The Goverment, etc etc etc. you goverment exist because of them. Smile i could so much about them that tomorow will catch me writing here to a barrel head like you! Empty, you get it? Smile the man was asking for an advice to play better poker, not to hate someone. you should be ashame of yourself!

Damn! I was actually excited for a couple minutes when I scrolled through reading and noticed Islandjack in the thread, but then I seen the dates and realized how old the thread actually was. Also, MicroMachina. Oh well! Maybe they'll be back sometime!

Yeah give up or use this bankroll and pay for a professional tipster on sports and make money off them or you can stake other players but this is more risky as the player will be managing your money. Buy memberships would be better, they do the work and you just manage your bets depending on them. So good luck stop playing if it is affecting your real life. Or just have fun like me and lose!

Haha, from what I read you are doing clearly a lot of things wrong.

I recommend watching some poker strategy videos or reading some articles.
