Pokerstars new Mobile Software  +1
Ohmybloodyg. It's incredible.....Another great addition to the Pokerstars stable. Seems ultra solid, just played 2 90 mans simultaneously and as far as i can see it's largely unflawed. Seemless transitions between tables, easy to browse the lobbys... it's..... it's... beautiful...!

This is going to change poker imo.. however mildly.

haven't tried and not going to do so in the near future, but from what i hear from you this sounds very pokerstars'y - if they do launch something generally it is something of great quality- not very keen on mobile poker as a whole but any move that helps some players is good news Agree

Another great addition improving new addictions. But it is good to be able to play anywhere anytime, that is the concept! I will give it a try, and think next time I went in a coffee near university, I will see a lot of people stick to the phone, not messaging or calling anyone, but playing!

I posted this elsewhere yesterday but it's worth repeating here Smile

I tried this on the train home from work yesterday (990 man 2c SNG), lost signal after about 15 minutes. When I got the signal back my table had been closed but I wasn't taken to another one. I checked in the lobby and I still had chips but I couldn't open the table i was on. Obviously still some bugs to iron out.

Sounds like very cool news!
It's time for Android poker to spread the word and Pokerstars is on the right track!
First FullTilt mobile Rush, then BWIN mobile client for cash games, and now comes Stars with SNG support and all... Really cool, I'll definitely try it

I cant imagine my self playing poker in a mobile phone.
I believe this would be a sign of addiction. Smile
Pc and laptop and tablet. When is the time that you could play poker from a phone ?
Probably when all the rest arent available.
But isnt then the time to do something else instead ? Smile

To answer a few questions.

1. I played on an iPhone4s originally, then my friends Samsung Galaxy, then when i got home on a tablet. All worked fine, infact perfectly. BUT we had wifi signal. Tried the 3g on the way to nandos and was 100% legit too.

2. Playing 4 tables (max atm) is VERY easy ( lupugol ) the GUI is pretty clever and has some nice touches.

3. If you get a phonecall you have the option to take your action, sit out or take the call.

4. If you run out of battery then you're an idiot...surely its simple common sense NOT to sit down in an mtt if you have a low battery...sigh. Moot argument imo.

5. It's only avail in the UK atm but it covers Android and Apple marketplaces, and is also avail through a non marketplace link via Stars themselves.

@ Mober, it's actually nice for me to now be able to be like...yeah, you know what, im gonna go and get that orange juice and loaf of bread instead of waiting till 55 past the hour and running like a maniac to the shop Big Smile I think i just like the idea of having more options??

Why are you an idiot if you run out off battery and i didn't say that you start playing an mtt whit low battery if you have full battery and you are playing an mtt tournament some take more then 6 ouhrs off playing so thats the only reason i started to say something about the battery so i don't think its a moot argument it depends on if you are going home or not so you have the charger or you can turn on your comp.

but hey everyone has his own opinion and that was just one off mine good luck and succes playing on your phone

I've wondered since I started playing why there weren't any poker apps for real money sites... Why did it take so long?

I hope party poker will follow suit, and release an app of their own...

Does anyone have a link to a youtube video, showing the pokerstars app? I could not find any yet...

Also can you continue a tournament on your PC when the battery runs out/you get home?; seems to me that should be possible, I know I can reset my PC, and come back into a running tournament.

@ issi - you would have to be an idiot to start playing an mtt because of the reasons you have given... mobile poker is a way for me to kill time whilst waiting around, or to keep me in the game and see my hands if im inbetween a workstation/laptop/wifi? If you intended to play a full mtt on your phone, im pretty certain that any thinking player would've brought a charger... and or.. if the mtt was hugely +ev probably gone home etc??

You wouldnt start playing an mtt on a laptop knowing you only had 3 hours of battery left would you..

------------
ps, every 90 man i've played on my phone so far ( final tabled twice ) has used <20% battery... ~ say 2h??

------------
pps who thumbed me down Disagree

yes you are right now i have read your explanation.
and i always play mtt tournaments so maybe it won't work for me but it is good that it is usefull for other players

Definately the idea is to play a short cash session when you are getting bored and not an mtt of course...

Considering you can't multi-table it would work much better with a rush game version Blink

That is awesome there is now a application for the mobile platform, but only for residents of Italy and the United Kingdom, When will it be available for the rest of the world?
