Playing in an upcoming World Series of Poker Circuit Event   +1
Hey there Mobsters! Thought I'd start a thread to post my results next month when I travel to Harrah's Rincon to play in the W.S.O.P circuit events there being held Mar 16-26th. A fellow grinder i used to play with from my hometown will be taking a flight out here to join me. His main interests are the cash games as the side games are juicy & soft for the most part. I plan to focus more on the tournaments. I really want a ring. The money will be nice, but I want the ring. I'm planning on playing at least one event probably one of the 500$ buy in events, and possibly the main event, depending on my results in the first event I play. Super stoked, should be a good time with plenty of juicy poker action. I miss that being at the tips of my fingers, in my own home. So it will be a little while before I have any results for this thread to post. Feel free to post any well wishes or good luck here though. Big Smile Until next time Mobsters. GL on the felt.

That would be great hoodi! I do wish you the best of luck and am jealous that I'm not a part of something like that. I know I'm not that experienced, but if there was something close here in Indiana I would partake in more live action tournaments.

Anyway be looking forward to hearing back from you here in the forum. By the way take a picture of your ring your GOING to WIN so you can post it. Have the faith in ya! Good Luck to both, you and your fellow grinder!

You should look into The Heartland Poker Tour, Green. It may stop somewhere in Indiana if there are any casino's or places to play live poker. Also the WSOPC stops all around the country. if I do well here in San Diego I plan to fly to St.louis,Mo. to play in the circuit events there. I am originally from St. louis so it will be fun to play in my new hometown & my old hometown. Getting super excited only 11 days away. I haven't been playing a lot of poker otherwise. Been doing a lot of "off the felt" preparations though. I have played two live tournaments. One with 65 runners, I bubbled in 11th when my pocket eights went down to someone called my all in jam from the bb with 53o(his lucky hand he proclaimed), the villain flopped trip threes. Aww crap! I also played a 10$ re-buy with 83 runners, & also fell a little short. When I lost a race in 14th place. QJs rivered a Jack to crack my pocket nines. Pretty satisfied with my play though overall, was fighting a short stack most of both of the tournaments as neither have a super great structure. Still have lots to do to get ready for the circuit though. Lists to make, bags to pack, poker books to brush up on. GL to you as well sir.

Wondered where you might have been! You pop in for a post then don't hear from you for awhile, but I remembered you were planning a trip to do some live playing. There's not many U.S. Mobsters here in BRM so drop in and see what's up when you think about it. It sure would be nice to see you make the St Lous gig. If you do I may drive that way to watch you play and actually meet someone in person. That is, if you don't mind. Anyway good luck at the live events!

Thanks for your well wishes teddybears. I'd rather be lucky than good any day of the week. Hopefully I play well also. I'm super stoked. The series starts in a 3 days, my poker buddy flies in to SD in 2 days. I wouldn't mind winning a couple of rings.

All the luck in North America coming your way hoodi. Maybe you'll be in the WSOP this year, that would be cool. Canada had it's 1st world champ 2 years ago from Quebec, that was an amazing win for him. So I hope to see you there, kickin butt....

Hey mahdrof, do you play in any of the local WTP amateur events around you???? Maybe there isn't any. Here in the GTA we have tons of bars who host them for the WPT.

The LTPQ (LTPQ.COM) used to have a couple of bars close to my place, and I came close to winning a paid trip to WPT/WSOP one time, but now that they ran into trouble with the Quebec lottery commission it is harder to find a bar close to me. Tough to find the time for the past year anyways... Sad

Good luck in Vegas. There are a lot of live sats to qualify for thr amin event. But its a long way to the "november" nine Big Smile But i think the side events of the WSOP are more lucartive to play and win a bracelet.

So the series has started. I'm at home today, but leaving to go to Harrah's Rincon for the next 5 days, for the rest of the Circuit Event. The theme this year is 12 rings in 12 Days. Hopefully I can capture a ring this week. For the month I believe I'm up about 600 or so. I've been playing a lot of 1-3$ NLH, some 2-4$ NLH, & also I played a few 10 man s-n-g's they were holding. I played 4 s-n-g's thursday & won 2. 10 players put up 65$, 1 winner gets 500$ in tournament buy in chips & 50$ cash. You can then use the tournament chips to buy yourself & another person( you want to do it this way bc tournament chips can only be used for tournaments, & you get no change as they have no cash value.) I'm planning on playing the 355$ 6 handed event tomorrow, I believe it's event # 7. I'll post the rest of my results probably Friday sometime when I get back.

Well back from the series. I personally didn't run as well or play as well as I would've liked. I was a little distracted, due to a rocky home life. My poker buddy from back home(Stl,Mo) Lew, placed 2nd in the 6 handed NLH Event though! It was a 2 day event the tournament started @12 noon & they played until level 21 on day 1. There were 9 left when the action was over around 2 am. There were 9 tough competitors left, including Bryan Devonshire, also known on the poker circuit as Devo(see article in Bluff Magazine this month.), My friend from back home Lew, & another friend that I play with in the local casino's.
The action was fast & furious on day 2. The entire thing was over in 5 hrs. I sweated my friend Lew, pretty much all of day 2. Three players fell quick, leading to the final table of 6. The cash game grinder I play with at the local Casino's was out 1st in 6th place. Lew however began to go on a terror busting out the next three competitors, including Devo in 3rd( though my friend hit a pretty sick 3 outer on the turn to send him to the rail). Lew went to HU with a 2-1 chip advantage, but lost it in the 1st hand when he doubled up the last remaining competitor. Lew held Aces on a board of 10K9, when he snap shoved, only to get snap called and get shown QJ for the nut straight. Lew went out about 30 min later. He bet the turn on a board of 9d7d3c5s, only to get check-raised, he then shoved all-in holding 9c6h. He was snap called by his competitor though, who was holding 55 for a set of fives. Lew couldn't catch back up and finished in 2nd place for a total payday of a little over 7k. He was also only in the 355$ tournament for a 165$ investment as he chopped a 10 man s-n-g satellite. Hope you enjoyed the read Mobsters, I know I sure enjoyed being there.

Sorry about the bad grammar, getting ready to head out to a tournament tonight was in a hurry. Cool
