What i mean by that is what is the hand that your holding and get knocked out with more often then any other hand, ive noticed mine is AK suited or not it is by far the hand i go out with most. thought id make a poll to see what you guys find is your go out hand!

I don't have an achilles tentant but my achilles tendon, or weakness in poker, is thinking I'm better than somebody else, or being over confident. Hand wise, ace jack.

Yeah I get that also but its usually more like j2 suited that they call a 4x bb raise with, when its me, I think my username might have something to do with it, they think I'm an idiot. But I can't complain as that's the type of thought I wanted to provoke.

AQ always gets me into trouble. usually get called buy someone hitting a J on the flop and from there its always a downhill trip to my stack... I'm learning to control it thou so it doesn't get me kicked out but still gives a punch. Think i should look at it as a 72 and just fold it sometimes.

I voted for AK but more thinking about the range AT-AK. Hands strong enough to play it in almost all positions but when flops comes... trouble hands when we begin in poker.

I think the people voting JJ+ (large pockets) are dreaming.. It's nice to *think* that we always exit tourneys in a blaze of glory - either some sick beat against our aces, or a horrible cooler like running KK into AA.. But the reality is, we far more often than not play out our final hand in a far less glamorous fashion.

I often go broke with a wide range of hands including most you have included in your poll, & some you have not. I find that when I bust out though, it usually has nothing to do with the hands themselves, but how I played them. I'd say my biggest enemy at the table is myself. Most often over playing or over valuing the hands. I rarely have a problem putting a guy on a hand lately. So most often I am not playing my cards, but my opponents range of holdings. I'd say check out some of the "Harrington on" books mentioned in my thread. They contain some really great info on all of the hands you mentioned.

@jess. It depends on the situation. When you pick a big hand like AA or AK and you get knocked out five times for example you cant compare it with the trash hands you got knocked out like ten times cause the blinds were high and you had to double or you thought to bluff etc.
When i go all in with AA i do it becasue i want to increase my stack cause im in favour preflop. But when i go all in with 46 suited for example i do it cause its my only choice, and cant afford to be picky any more.

Yes exactly. That is what I mean - and more often than not, we exit a tournament after being card dead, or losing a big hand or whatever and finding ourselves shoving in a marginal spot, mostly hoping for folds.
I'd say pretty much like Jess. A-J, A-Q or middle pocket pairs like 6-6 7-7. With these hands, most of the time, you know you're going to have to rely on your read. So they are the toughest to play, but im not sure if they're really my weak spot because I rarely lose big with this kind of hands. I would say my weak spot is probably hands like 5-8 suited, 4-7 suited because I have a tendecy to bet out/raise most of my draws. I used to play too many of those hands but I changed my pre flop range since then. I never call raises with these hands unless I get really good odds, I only play these hands when I'm the one doing the betting. (also depends on stack sizes a lot)

well since i am a "pro" poker player who ships lots of hard earned money to the people who are in more need of cash than me- i can safely say that my Achilles tentant is vodka- after some decent usage of it any two cards become a real Achilles tentant, crap i really should just stick to play money
