As a second place is worthless, we have to take more risks. Of cause this will result in more early busts, but there is little choice than to up the aggro level in this type of games.

Cool thanks for the advice, I may try my hand at some SnG's and see how it goes. I've heard it can be profitable to play these kinds of tourneys for tickets and then sell the tickets. Gotta brush up on my Heads Up game, there's lots to be desired there. Thanks again.

Hi guys!!
In a STT with only 1 place rewarded we will play lots of flips and situations 40-60/60-40. Don't be afraid to be the first out with KQo, for example. This do not means play like fish, calling alliins with low pairs, etc.

The best ones to play are the stt 6max with 2 tickets for 2 first places. If u play pokerstars and wana learn about it, try to follow Acoimbra (Portuguese pokerstars pro) way of play. He is the best super turbo 6max player of the world.

Hi again.
I think is very different play FR STT with 1 place awarded and 6max with 2 places.
Something i like to see in sites. Standard structures for STT. Play in different sites means diferent strategies. Some structures are created for a crazy guy (like in ipoker).

I think all depends of the site traffic. Per example in stars its easy to fill in any stt so we need to play more cautions, cause we know if we play crazy more tournments we are going to play and the variance will be higher.
I would try to play aggressive early, have a loose image, then if I double up early, go back to a more normal pre flop range and hope they think I'm still doing moves. Of course, when theres 3-4 people left, you have to go back to aggro play and try to control the pots you play, but that's standard.
Good luck at the tables, always need to win a couple of races to win a winner take all

The more cautious players will go tighter in the beginning, the bravest will go more aggressive at the start. I use to give my best when I have my first good hand, to try to make a good pot/pots in the early stage. Then, if things run well, I will be controlling, playing only what I consider better hands, so I don’t lose advantage for the lower opponents, more or less till field gets cut by half. After that, in the late phase, the tendency is to play only when you believe you can go all-in with that hand, which means you will always be playing to eliminate.

That's definitely a different scenario but it's actually apealing to me a great deal. I love super turbo's but I usually stick to the DoN's, more cut and dry for the fast pace. So I'll definitely check it out, always like looking for new stuff to learn, keeps the game fresh.
@Chartoule: If you know it'll only be 1 on 1 isn't it fine to call with low pairs? I'm talking pre-flop pockets like say 22.

In mu opinion Dons are more for patiente players, usually we are expecting the other players making mistakes, in other way 6max stt tickets are more aggro play. You just need to play where you feel more comfortable. If you dont like to push all in UTG with KQ or JQ then the 6max its not your game.

Generally you're right but super turbo games attract a lot of more fishy players, and I've found that quite a few of them are willing to throw down either early on or at the wrong time a few minutes later when the blinds are huge. Just my observation though.
early - Id play tight sticking to postion and hands. Nine out of ten times you'll see alot of shoving from looser players you don't want to get caught up in a hand you normally wouldn't be playing. Plus people usually drop fast in these games to "fun players" easy chips in the middle stage.
middle - I tend to get a little more loose take a few more risks so as to not get blinded out especially if there is an ante.
Late - Really depends who your playing, if im short I'll wait for a A or better if im the big stack I'll sit back and watch. If there loose I'll check out more flops and do my best to set traps when i hit a hand. If there tight I'll bluff more and proceed more cautiously to a reraise or calls.

if only the 1st place wins- it's a donker tourney still a lot depends on the blind structure- are they hyper/fast/medium/slow- if it's a hyper/fast tourney i really think it's all due to the luck- you know that you have little time, and you have to act- if it's slower format, i wouldn't rush too much, just play regular game- you will find a +ev situation to double up
