playing in a group;Is that Cheating??  0
This thread i started after reading another thread over here at the forum..

Some have said in a reply to a guy whom's account had been closed by pokerstars

that playing in a group is so called CHEATING..

Well to inform u all about my experiences :

I regurarly play at Stars and as you all may know its possible to seek players
It's also possible to seek Team pokerstars players.

Now here the following,,,if playing in group's is concidered cheating...

Why have i, on several occasions found out that some teampokerstars players of the same country, but also teampokerstars from different countries.

were playing in mtt's with 5 at the time,, then i seek wich other tables or tournaments they play at ,,and notice they buy inn all at the same tournaments,,

Also i have seen this in 6 and 9 playerSNG's ,where4- 5 pokerstarspro's (team-onlinepokerstars)

were competing against a few regulars...

when i saw that i thought ,damn these regulars just haven't got a chance ,,the money will go
to the pro's especialy in this format ,and with 4-5 of them at the table, 99% sharing profit and loses.

So is this cheating of just being smart???

In th past i have played a lot of live poker and was a known player in the Amsterdam-pokerscene..

what i have learned in that period of my life was that u should at least know who your playing against, before u take a seat at any table ,because there is a great possiblity that people in livecashgames teamup...win the money of the outsider first and at the end of the evening or session
share the profits,,,

That is the main reason why i prefer playing online instead ,but as the above example has proven ,at least to me (unfortunately i haven't got a screenshot)

that also in onlinepoker people are teaming up..

i love to hear comments and experiences u have had on this ISSUE.

Best Regards,

p.s

if u want proof of what i wrote here...log in on the client and seek for players as i did
check out what tables there at ,, and wich tournaments there in...

There have been several teams of Chinese colluders unearthed in the past few years, and yes it is cheating. When PokerStars used to list the city and country of origin, I would often see players from the same city in China playing at the same table in 7studHI. I was suspicious from the start, and I always avoid tables with more than two players from China, as well as any other players that I have my suspicions about. User beware...

It is possible to play in a homegame at stars with your friends. In all other games it is collusion. Par example: you play a sng with friends against other players. Is this fair?

How else could you call a team play on poker since its not a team game?
If the pros are doing it as you say at Poker Stars doesnt mean its right.
But who do you thing has more chances to get banned by doing it.
You or them? Smile

Yea its cheating, dont try to doing that if some player report you your account will be banned and your funds will be confiscated so its bad idead to try teamplay.

you can call it cheating all you want the fact is there are thousands of people online today who do collude via many different means to go further than just buddies at a table all the way to sharing hands via other means than the server which your playing on there is many forms of instant chat that can aide with cheating so in order to believe that no body is using these techniques against you well its just not realistic

I myself can think of 5 foolproof ways to cheat and win big I will post all my records if people don't believe this ( I am a losing poker player lol) I win little games and lose lots of other little games so I clearly do not cheat.... but to believe there inst thousands of people on every server employing one of many available variants of cheating is just naive

Who said anything about not believing that there are cheaters? Confused Confused

The point of this topic is about another thread where someone admitted to cheating and this one is in relation to that. Smile

michaelwilk are you admitting to cheating as well? Hope not.

I personally know some people who gather , 3-4-5 , and enter those kind of double up tournaments , like 1 $ buy-in , 10 players , last five win 2 $ , and they manage to clean the tables , I personally don't think it's fair , and who ever believes that this "team play " is ok , and not illegal , are stupid and should be banned from entering another poker platform .

As i said in my post I will publish my LOSSES i have no wins to speak of my biggeest win be 26 bucks for a multitable on partypoker lol so no I am no cheater it is just that it is so easy to do it does happen and yes sites who open and operate without such a set of pros who play together and rake profits for the site well they just wouldnt be business savvy people and a million companies worldwide have proven that business ethics are a relic of old lol

Unearned money (i.e cheating stealing conning) will always lead to the loss of it and more from your life whether it be dollar values, time spent, or personal suffering you will reap what you sow in the end

Sorry if that sounded religious

Only time I think its allowed is in The World Cup of Poker (WCP) where country's play in teams against each other country.

"giving you the chance to make it on to your national team. Every team is made up of a striker, midfielder, defender and a goalie - just like in a football team! Each position on the team has its own qualifier tournament across a range of buy-ins, starting for free or just $1.10. Make it through to the live final and you’ll also get a pro poker player added to your team line-up as Team Captain!"
QUOTE From Pokerstars World Cup of Poker (WCP) website

So seam's like there's exceptions too the rule.....z

All Thee Best
PS; I have only seen once on TV if i remember right they play, team captain V team captain's, Striker V Striker etc
im not sure if this is right as few years ago that i watched, so maybe its not collusion I don't know?

It's not cheating if a group regularly play poker with each other, even if there are two non-friends among seven close friends. It's not cheating to deliberately seek out tables where your friends are playing. It is cheating if they play together as a team, if they collude with each other or share information.

It is also cheating if you softplay your mates. If you just call a hand instead of raise cos you don't want to knock your friend out this is a form of unfair practice. Although it is hard not to play differently against people you know. I played live yesterday and I was bantering with my mate on the same table but I wouldn't be less inclined to take money off him than anyone else. In fact I'm more familiar with his play and I'm more likely to call him down for bragging rights.
