Is this where online pokeris evolving to??  0
Last week ive played a guy from the US in a freeroll tournament and he had a very
special new tactic i had not seen before:

So i like u mobsters to all know this, considering we are here to help eachother in our online game.

What he did from the first hand was constantly cursing and calling names at other players at the table..

He got in a big chatfight with another US player at my table..

To give an example of what words he did:

He started about afro americans and black people in general,,,and said all bad things u can imagine
about this group of fellow humans. (i see this as very Rasistic violation of the chat)
He also said many bad things about the active president of the US, Mr Obama
wich lead to a reaction of other American players at the table,,and the cursing from his side never stopped untill he got knocked out of the tournament.

I am sure he used this as a way to get people play against him to get rid of him as quick as possible from the tournament,,and i also got upset with him.
however this was a no go thing to do,there never came a moderator to the table,(i did not report him, which i should)to warn him or disqualify him.

I myself also got into disccusing with him ,,and the shower of cursing also came over me,,

every hand, every single second he could possibly write something bad,,he used while at our table

So finaly i wrote to him that i hoped he would break his fingers writing this provocative nonsense..
and blocked his chatballoon.
A few hands later he got elliminated and i guess everybody at the table was happy[ Smile] he did.

The bad thing about this situation was that he achieved in what he wanted to acomplish however he got knocked out..

Players started to play him with hands they would normaly not have called with..i myself waited only for monsters to play him and every hand i played against him i put him all -inn ,but he never called me.

His goal with this new tactic was to get others playing much looser then they would..in a normal situation.

So as you see people are pulling out every possible trick to influence the game..

BEWARE OF THESE MADMEN,, do as i did to not distract u of your A-Game...!!!!!

block the chatballoon and report to the moderator..wich i normaly do ,at stars if someone is very impolite.

However this was on another site and since i am new there ,didn't have the time and could not find
how to report him,

comments please Blink

He was probably just an a-hole. I doubt that somebody would purposefully implement such an elaborate strategy in a freeroll. Smile

I think he watched too much television where Phil Helmuth went all time calling idiot and insults all other players in the table.

Freerolls are weird. Sometimes people who play them forget they are mostly for new players to learn the game and feel it's their duty to preach. As for verbal abuse with no reference to Poker, there is a emoticon at Hero "loser" that best fits the situation if you feel you can't effectively chop em down to size.

As an example of how of a tool "chatting" is heres a short story. On merge there is a player who is really good. He usually has the other player pegged and always amasses a large stack. He is caustic as hell though. He is a sore winner and a horrible loser, he uses parlour tricks like saying he has an inferior hand and then dives with the absolute nuts and only when he knows the short stack almost has to call. He will talk about others lack of ability when hes not in a hand and pretty much does everything you really shouldnt do at a table. We all are quilty because noone is perfect but this guy did it every hand and evertime i played with him he always was chatting.

Well while this guy was likely thinking he was proving how much he knew by providing such a commentary he really soaked up some bad blood. People would call his allins with KJ or better everytime and sure he would win more then lose but ultimately even he said he knew he messed up by playing the villain. Sure he got action when he wanted but he never stopped making those late position steals with less stellar hands and they ate him up. He asked me one time after i felted him on the bubble when he dove with Q2h on the button and i had Q9d on bb. "how does a player who has been a nit all game find a call with that crap against me?" and i replied almost apologetically because i did it to him alot "listen man. you wanna be a dbag then im gonna trust my gut whereas if you were just an X id treat the hand more commonly, stop being such a polarizing figure that peope want to beat. Or tighten ur range because ur getting called as it stands" and he said thats what everyone says and im not sure if he got the point.

Talking is bad if you dont know what it will evoke. When i play my best and with discipline i can chat a bit but usually the quiet riot who just observes and takes notes trumps all but the very best.
