A while ago Party Poker changed their software, causing the termination of your connection, after 10 minutes of inactivity.
Not only is it annoying that you get the "Due to an extended period of inactivity..." dialog, every 10 minutes, but it also prevents tournaments you registered for, to load automatically, when you do not "...click on OK to re-establish the connection".
Upon reading in another thread, that I'm not the only one bothered by this, I thought you might appreciate me sharing a little "AutoHotKey" script I wrote a while ago, that somewhat alleviates the problem:
PartyInactivityTimeout.ahk
SetTitleMatchMode 2 GroupAdd, Windows_to_close_automatically, PartyPoker.com, Due to an extended period of inactivity
IfWinActive, PartyPoker.com, Due to an extended period of inactivity { Send, {ENTER} } Sleep, 3000 }
This script requires that you install "AutoHotKey" (www.autohotkey.com). I could compile it into an executable so you won't need autohotkey, but I don't think I can share files on BRM (also that would require you to trust that the executable is virus and trojan free).
What it does, is it confirms the dialog as soon as it's shown.
Note that this is by no means an ideal solution, since the dialog still flashes on your screen every 10 minutes, losing focus from the application you are working with. I would much rather have prevented the timeouts altogether, while not affecting focus.
Posted by IslandJack: Nice one! These pop-ups are irritating as hell.
Looked around a bit and there isa ctually a program that does it for you apparently. Can't link to it, but have a look around on Google.
@ IslandJack: That would be sweet... Can you post the search string you use on google? I keep finding this page...
I would like something that prevents the timouts rather than auto-clicking the dialog. My first attempt would click something in the lobby, and this worked to prevent the dialogs, but had the disadvantage of bringing the lobby into focus each time (just as annoying, or even more so)...

This is very interesting, I didn’t knew about the existence of AutoHotKey and it seems very reasonable to use it in PP case, because it really is annoying to always have that advice appearing when we aren’t in activity there. I usually use more than one poker software when I play, for example I open PP to register and play PP freerolls, and I use another where I have more cash to play some ring or SnGs. This will give me a lot of help next time I will play at PP. Are you sure there is nothing wrong in using this? PP will not identify this as something that is bad for the use of their software?

I read somewhere this dialog is used to prevent data mining. This script does no such thing, it just confirms the dialog as soon as it pops up.
I would imagine that if the goal for the dialog would be to limit the number of open (unused) connections, they might find such scripts objectionable.
On the other hand there is little difference to someone clicking it each time, and the script doing it for you...
Posted by JackalDFL: Can you program one for me that auto folds my AA whenever the villian is about to suck out on me
Lol. Sure I can. Just loop ImageSearch, looking for AA, and when you find it, look for the fold button, and MouseClick it.
The slight downside is that it will auto fold any AA, but at least your pocket aces will never get sucked out on again, and it conforms to the specifications that were laid out by you...
