I think this is just a b******t story TBH. It seems like this all started from a 2+2 forum post, and it's gone viral from there.
From a logical standpoint, it doesn't really make much sense, given what's happened with GBT and FT as of late:
- Servers Being tested - GBT Opening Parent companies - Pocket Kings Hiring Customer service repts
To me, it just seems like the retard that made the post on 2+2 and started this all is just attention whoring. I mean it was their first post ever, so that should resonate pretty clearly his credibility.

Please just allow the U.S players to be a part of it that is all I care about. I don't care who owns the site, but it would be fun to to have my penguin avatar, play RUSH Poker and some RAZZ, Can't wait to find out what's going to happen for sure!

2nd the crazy s**t! Did not see that coming, makes sense though, why not buy out your biggest competitor if you can get them at a discount, and seeing as FT's not even running, I'm sure they're selling at a very hefty discount. Also seeing as PS has already been approved to run, they can use their cred to re-establish the FT brand in the DOJ's eyes.

Very interesting if true.. I wonder if they'd run both skins connected to the PS server ?? (shared traffic) That would be pretty awesome.. bad news for all the other poker operators though!

dont think so Jess pokerstars freaking out just now i think the amount of players they have on the site. What i was thinking was they could just shut the site then all the money owed to players from tilt refund it on pokerstars. I cant see this happening all the same as people just love the cartoon tables and if they did it leaves it open for someone else to go the cartoon look.
It is a great thing for the fulltilt fans all the same because they know there money will be safe most likely, Im sure the people with lots of money tied up there will be happy because they know they will get there money now

Hi, The only thing i wonder why so much hate on Negreanu? he is a great player and definitely one of best players Canada's got in poker. and he is fun to watch. Negreanu belongs to my favorite players but i do have a long list of entertaining players to watch for me, and i respect all of them. You could just start respecting them aswell. But i guess hating on Negreanu in one thread and one post is not a big deal
Now to the thread.. if all of this is true, then its good and bad news in one. Yea thats right people will get their money back very very likely. that is a great + +++++++++++ many players been waiting for i guess.
The bad part about it : Not so good promotions,rake back, vip program. And PokerStars will dominate both Online & Offline poker scene. There won't be anyone who can take a step to compete vs PokerStars... its just impossible right now.

Well from what I've heard, they'd maintain them as seperate sites, at least for the time being.
I think what would make the most logical sense is for them to either fully assimilate FT's software, and merge their player base like you suggested.
I don't know how I feel about the buyout thought. I think they definitely would do away with rakeback for FT players, which I'd be totally against. Sure their VIP system is okay, but it's a farcry from 27% rakeback :S
Everyone knows the real value in the VIP system @ stars is only really seen by high stakes/volume players, such as Supernova.

i dont think its true. for months now we'v been hearing about gbt. and now last minute after testing, hiring and license applying we hear that its not gbt but stars who are buying ftp?
i hope its not true because im not a fan of stars and they will put their stamp on ftp and spoil it.
