I can't explain it....  0
Felt the need to play live lately so over the last little while I played in 4 local live league events 40 players or so. 4/4 final tables, a 5th, a 3rd and two takedowns.....oh if only it could be like this all the time Smile

funny how the good streaks have a way of making you forget about tougher times Confused

There are players (not so much) who basicly have no downswings in semi long run, so lets say no downswing in weeks, which is very very good.
If on a heater we play deffirent then on a down, if on a down mostly we play scared, frightened to loose more.
Poker is all numbers, mathwise we can have 2 or 3 downswings after each other, also 2 or 3 heaters followed by each other.
Anyway for example if winning players stay in downswings for a very very long time its mostly not cos of variance or running bad or bad luck or wotever you name it, its simply cos they play bad ''scared''

On topic: Well played Worship

Nice one Jackal. I suggest you take that good swing with you down south to the WSOP and see what happens.

Keep playing well and remember one thing - "VARIANCE", because we all know it will come back and bite us in the bum eventually............................

GL to you all.......................

Glad to haer something pertaining to live play and goodluck both Jackal. As for the up and down swings I've developed a method that seems to be working relatively well for the past couple of weeks. I made a thread on it so won't go into it by any length, but I start out low buyins and move up if or as I play better each game. If not doing well I play at the lower buyin until I feel there's no luck out there for me today.

Anyway Nice place finishes and Good Luck to All!

great play- relatively small field- and if the structure is slow, huge starting stack, then just by playing abc, low risk poker i think you can fare this well most of the time- good job anyway...cheers. btw live poker is way better imho than online, gonna go into the wilderness myself Big Smile

Sure! Live you are alert and pay more attention, and you can read your oponent face also. And it's easier to know how the other poker players are playing.

Also the amount of hands that you play is lower, then it's more dificult to get as much badbeats as you get online.

I love Poker, both online and live. But, of course, I choose LIVE!

Regards,
Aces.

By the way, very well played!

Your live statistics are awesome, if things keep that way in the future, you will have a happy life in what concerns to poker. I see your problem is you can’t get more of that action to take place regularly. I bet you have lots of nice episodes to tell us about those events, why don’t you write them down here, so we can all feel what you felt getting so close to winning a live event. I’m looking forward to hear from you JackalDFL! And don't justify your better game at the live events in comparison to the not so good performances at online with your age, PC are around us for almost 30 years now!

Thanks for all the positive comments guys. Since I posted, I figured I would ride the wave and so played in 3 live tourneys this week going 3rd, 3rd, 2nd. The 2nd was with a little help of an over zealous player. I was holding A-Ts and had called a min raise while in the BB for heads up action. The flop come T-6-2. I lead out with a bet and he shoves on me. I start to think about the hand , I am fondling my chips, I say...hmmmm do you have an overpair out loud..... And he flips his K-K and yells to the dealer "burn and turn". I said thanks for the info and folded Tongue Then it got real funny when he tried to suggest that I would have called had he not done that so all my chips should go...hahaha....then he came to his senses ans apologized for his mistake. It was a weird night on the felt. I wasn't in the hand but there were two people all in and two left to decide. The one player folds his hand, the other player is thinking and shows his hand to the guy that just folded.....that guy picked up his cards he just folded and joked that he should take one of those Shock . Meanwhile the two all ins where flabbergasted. Confused

I have never had a run of 7 straight final tables before and it sure has been fun.
Thumbs Up Thumbs Up
