Will I Play Fare? New Technique (The Step Process)  0
I started playing with a new step process in mind. I start out playing the .60 SnG (9 Player) and if I place in the money I move on to the $1.10 (27 - 45 Player) SnG and if I place in the money I move on to the $2.20 (45 Player) SnG if I place I move on to the $5.50.
Since playing this way I found myself winning a little more then I lose. This is because if I lose at the lower level buyin's I don't move on. The reason I started this was due to having days where It seems no matter how tight or well I think I'm playing I lose, but if I play and am hitting it seems like I have good days. Of course more bad then good, but the good days I move up. My best day was a 2nd in .60, a 3rd in the $1.10, a 1st in the $2.20 and a 1st in the $5.50.
Could be one of those mental things, but has been working relatively well so thought I'd share it with everyone. Good Luck to All!

I still play in the $2.20 to $5.50 Bounties and the $300 Guarantees, but my SnG strategy is where I keep my BR stable. I'm not a high stakes play, guess I'm not even mid stakes, but enjoy playing and not depositing.

I do not like to play SNG's often, I like to play cash games much more, especially the Pot Limit Omaha cash games, I like the adrenaline action cash games.

Hi Greenmohave.

Seems a good strategy. Can you post about with how many buys you start and with how many buys you will you change the levels? When i see post like this i´m glad to see what kind of bankroll management the player uses.

Good luck with this crazy .60 SnG!!

Nice one Green. Seems like a good idea to me. As they say "if it works for you". Good to hear also that you have a site that is okay for you US players to play on. Give you a chance to get some of your cash back from FT etc.

GL to you and perhaps I'll try something similar. I will let you know the results.

well this actually is a great idea- this works on the financial markets as well...when you catch the wave- ride it all the way! i sometimes play with this strategy on cash tables: buy in with min/average stake- double up- go up a limit...lose trash my computer Hit PCso this is kinda expensive strategy to me Big Smile

Done that too in the past but only when i was losing. After a win i would drop in the lower buy in)
I used to start off. and i had set a max of buy in. Couldnt afford the constant raising after a few losses in the row.
Its something like the doubling in roullete

gl in your new project though!

Maybe it a good idea in tilt days, but dunno if it'll be a very good strategy for all day play.

I've got a friend that's always playing 3,5 and eventually a 7. In that level he's more than 60% ITM. Then it's quite a good way to make br grow. Regularity, and playing tight, is a very good formula if you continue studying and learning about poker.

Just to expand a little on that response, I use that strategy when I have had a really good day and don't want to screw it up, and when I am tired or not feeling well but want to play anyways. Sometimes it has worked well, and when it hasn't it has allowed me to keep the old bankroll intact. Recently on a good day I did this first by buying into a $2.50 turbo 6 person SNG, won that, then bought into a $5.00 turbo 6 person SNG, won that, and then a $5 super-turbo 20 person 4 max per table and won that! Fun when it works out. GL again Greenie!

The only reason I started doing this was due to by BR never really increasing above a couple hundred dollars except on a couple occasions. based on the days that were bad I'd lose to muh and my BR would go down then, when I'm under $30.00 I don't know, but I must really play different because I'd start that upward climb.

So, since doing it this way if I'm losing I usually don't play nothing above the $1.10 buyin. I never paly more then two (2) games at once because I can't focus on how an individual plays. I'm not out to make big money, but it would be nice to cash out a $100 every now and then and never deposit again. At this point I'm doing alright.

Also, your point on being tired, but playing anyway is something I learned about myself. When I'm tired and play, I'm careless or take more chances on the hands like Q9, K10, J10, etc. There are many times I fold these when playing in the $2.20 to $5.50 games. At least that's what I've noticed taking these steps from the lower buyin then moving up based on placing in the money.

It is fun when it works out and now it seems like I only get to that point (the $5.00 level) if I'm playing well. Thanks for the feedback and Good Luck to you and all!

Oh! I've never tried a game above $5.50, but wanting to try the $11 SnG.

So have you given it a try yet! Just curious as to how your doing with it. I mean when I lose I don't play above the $1.10 level so it's just better for me in that perspective. Good Luck!

Thanks for the comments / replies and for those who are going to give it a shot I do know you won't lose as much if your not playing well on given days. Good Luck!

So far today I lost my first .60 SnG placed 2nd in my second SnG, took first in my first $1.10 SnG of the day so moving on to a $2.20. Also, lost out on my $1.10 buyin for the $300 Guarantee. Still about $10.00 up for the day. All good, clean fun!

i dont know what youre total roll is but using around 2% for bigger tournaments and 5% for single table s&g is for me the best way to keep my roll,
to bad when i tilt i go try to earn it back as fast as possible and then i will loose it all ofc
