Play a single $20 + R game and just smash it..

Seriously though - I don't consider "Bankroll management" when you're playing with under $100-$200

It would take forever otherwise - play what - 50c SNGs and 20c MTTs for 3 months and then move onto the $1?

IMO just play five $5 games or something and hope for the best.

You should take in game about 5-10% of your bankroll to minimize a risk to loose alll your money) I'd recommend you to play 10 cent turbo tournaments for 360 players. 36 plase paid, about 1,5-2 hours in play, so it improoves your skill.

Some people swear by the double or nothing SNGs to build a roll, personally I prefer regular SNGs. I think the main thing is to give yourself as many BIs as possible so that a bad swing of variance doesn't knock you out. Playing at a site that has decent freerolls that allow you to build your roll risk free is also an advantage. GL!

For beginners play only TAG and perfect bankrollmanagement and multitable like hell.
Play what you most like, SNG, MTT, CASH, for MTT a deeper BRM is recommended.

Hope it helps Thumbs Up

Edit: Allways have best deal.

You have to think about your $25 as all the Money you have available for the game, even if you have the chance to go get some more. Those $25 are all your fortune of your life that you will put in the tables. This is the starting point. From now on I will only talk about percentages, where 100% means $25. So, being reasonable, you don’t want to put all your life in game in one hand right? So this means you will never play with the 100% all at the same time. Perhaps 2% is a good value if you already have what it takes to go for the tables (I am thinking you already know how to play, strategy, difference in position, etc.). If you go for SnG, I only have one advice for you: only stop playing SnG when you have won more than three quarters of the number of SnG’s you have played; if not, you may be losing money (i.e. SnG buy-in $1.10, 1 win, 1 lost, total amount invested $2.20, total money won $2 equals a loss of $0.20). Only after reaching a new degree, will you be able to upgrade the value of your game buy-in. In my opinion, only after reaching $100 as your total balance, but you can do it when you reach $50 if you want to.
If you go for ring, the thought is the same, you just have to apply it, but remember: think about those $25 as all you have, so you don’t go spending it easy on the tables. Good things don’t come in your life from night to day, give it time and dedication.

Best advice.

Playing $5 sngs will kill you in hours probably.

Double or nothings are a great way to get your money growing - simply chip up playing smart and once you have a decent stack wait for others to make mistakes.

Watch out for the rake though - it can make a big dent in profit margins.

Man i think thats really bad advice.

BRM is just as crucial when people are starting out, perhaps more so than an experienced player.

I know it takes a long time to make money that way, but if you just start out you can't make quick bucks without the experience of playing 1000s hands.

Even if you managed to get a good bankroll as a rank beginner it would be gone in no time unless they were an exceptionally quick learner.

The ROI per hours is miserable but the experience and hands seen are priceless really.

The only real way to make big money is to place in the top three (or final table) of a big MTT. Yeah over countless hours of work and downswings you could maybe amass a few grand in year or two, by grinding SNGs or ring games. But realistically, if your talking tens or even hundreds of thousands. Play on Ps because it has the biggest tourneys/player base and with a decent buy in 5/10$. You won't ship too many but its the only way to win big.

Probably in PS it's better to play the Hot 0,55 which has a prize pool of 2.5k gtd. Or Bigger 2,20 which has a 10k one.

Low buy-in tournaments are a great option if you can deal with the amount of time needed to play it... Think of about 5, 6 or 10 hours playing MTT.

In the other hand, playing sit n go 1 table is also a good choice. Playing tight and regularly will help you to make some money from fishes that you'll find there!

El_Rage, a PokerStars Pro says that you must play tournaments where you can buy from 50 to 100 buy-in. i.e. 0,10 sit n go, with $25, you have 250 buyins. 0,55 hot you have 45,45 buyins... Then both are a good choice for you.

Hope to have helped you,

Regards,
Aces.

I disagree to some extent.

Yeah the payday is great, but the chances of a big hit aren't, especially for a newcomer.

Multi table SNGs are a better bet as are MTTs with 500 players or less.

Also factor in the time needed and its not a way to build a bankroll - the PS tournies must be what 1500+ deep?

if you want to win big- buy a lottery ticket Big Smile

if you want to win big playing online poker- cheat Thumbs Up organize a group of colluders and get out there to do the business- btw i have heard that the best place to make money for a group of colluders is don tourneys, so pokerstars is not the place to develop your business Big Smile

there is another way- go with the rules of bankroll management- be confident of your skill, develop it, educate yourself- and in 237 years your bankroll will be a whooping $69,54 Big Smile

Im in for the bankroll management on this.
If you want to have more chances on having money after some downswing you need to use BRM.
And of course it will take you longer to make some serious money with that starting capital, but it will last you longer.
If you are not into ring games try sng's with up to 1$ and never play in the same table with same
players. Try to avoid that, cause there is where the biggest collusion happens. gl

I would say try to build your bankroll to $100 by playing freerolls and than try to play by following strict bankrollmanagement and build your bankroll much further.

I see here very much tips for make bankrolls with $25 or a little bit better Big Smile But here is my question: How can I make $10K with absolutely nothing, and I'm not Chris Ferguson Tongue Big Smile

I like what Fakiry, mahdrof, sadamman, noonlion and a few of the others comments or suggestions, but make sure your comfortable at whatever level you choose. You need to be relaxed, confident and play tight enough to make the final tables if your playing 18, 27 or 45 player SnG's since I feel anything from $1.10 to $2.20 is the limit for your BR to stay reasonably stable.
I say playing AA, KK, QQ, AK, AQ and maybe some smaller pairs if you can see the flop cheap. Try to watch your opponents closely and their cards when ever possible. Don't jump at Allin's and try to be patient enough to let the blinds get to 100 before getting to carried away betting. Let the fools play hard at the start unless you definitely have the knuts and can make more then 50 to 100 chips to take risks.

Now I'm not one to give advice because I've only been playing about a year and a half, but I have built my BR from the $50 range up to a few hundred and have withdrawn a $100 here and there. I don't play anything above $5.50 since I play poker for fun. Maybe someday I'll try to make some big cash, but not at this time. Good Luck!

Play a couple of tables of micro cash nice & tight = easy money, then take a shot at say a $11 or less tourney, rinse and repeat then increase your tournament buy in as your returns from the cash game improve.

same here, with $25 i dont care much about brankrollmanagement, taking ages for a few bucks.

i would open up 5 tables x $5 and play SSS. at this limit and with your SS, 90% will call your allins, just move allin after a raise...look out for the chinese, theyd call with 22+ and any Ax suited - quick money.

I would play $1-2 45/90 people sng, os as t3ddykgb said SSS.

I think, you never win 'BIG' with any tactic or prediction. Its only a game, and good until you know and play in this way. If you want to live from this, you only losing...
