Hi all,
after a loooong pause from poker, decided to start playing again. Started with what was left in my party-poker account, around 8 bucks, all full of myself remembering how i was "the best darn player on earth", but i forgot the hard school i had the first 2 times i started playing micro cash, and all those "MIRACLE" calls that somehow hit and beat your trips+ hand... Not to mention how anybody with the IQ of 15 wouldn't make that call in the beginning... So after the first "lets call em bad beats", got my old notebook out where i wrote all that HARD learned poker rules down, and now after 4 days playing my "ultimate super ueber fortress tight" ( i really call it that way, it aint getting tighter than this ) micro cash game finally got to 50 bucks after my just finished season, today with a IMMENSE Bankroll raise of 25%
But i am getting bored again with that grinding to get to the next level (i play full ring, 8+ tables), but i know if i go up now, i will most probably get burned really quicklya, and got to stick to bankroll management...
So what are you other micro players starting ranges usually??? Also i lose a lot of dead money of my tight range for not raising more often....
That's the problem with playing uber-super-ultra-tight. It works, but it's boring. In my opinion, it's better if you play a lot of tables at a time (8 is ok). This way you don't get too bored folding every hand for 30 minutes.
Anyways, there's no point playing very loose at 1c/2c, cause it's hard to make someone fold for 16 cents on the turn Even playing the position at these stakes is pretty hard since the BB will probably call you with about any 2.
Patience is the key, not only in the game, also with your bankroll management

On micros and especially on full ring where you definately need to play tighter than on short handed tables playing a solid game would bring you good profits
My advice would be to play a solid game, 20 VPIP, 17 PFR and the cash will cme. One more thing: Never try to bluff on these limits, players simple don't judge the hand, they usually snap call your bluff lol
If you are getting incredibly bored with the super tight play then you can always open up with some suited connectors and suited 1-gapers when there is a couple limpers or a small raise and a call. also with small pairs. if your opponents have a large enough stack the implied odds makes this a profitable play and also opens up your tight range so players have to guess whether you have aces or garbage. The more choices your opponents have to make about you, especially at such low stakes, gives you an advantage.
but the most important thing for micro stakes is player reading. find out who is playing super aggressive, psychotic, or super tight. Also identify the people who only play their own cards, and don't think about the game (usualy a fair majority of the table). I like to run table searches on the people i play against because if they are playing 4-8 tables or more i can assume that their premier focus isn't on making plays. and their style of play can easily be predicted. Know who you are playing against.
