Johnny Lodden: "Thinking about stop playing after scoop..."

Johnny Lodden might be Norway's biggest poker star ever, and he used to be among the top High Stakes cash game players in the world on the Prima Poker network back in the "good old days". However, he hasn't been running so good in the past few years and it's not very often he hits the headlines with a big win.  In fact, he said that he was broke and had to borrow money in an interview alre[...]   Read more » Johnny Lodden: "Thinking about stop playing after scoop..."

It's bound to happen to someone.

Too bad really - pokers not like a career obviously, if you can't cut it you'll get chewed up.

I can't see him retiring completely - it would be stupid to waste talent, he'll still play smaller stakes I'd imagine?

I believe when he says "quit poker" he means stop playing poker full time. I do believe he will still play, it would be a waste not to. I just think that he will stop spending all his time playing poker, and studying poker.

A pro like Johnny Lodden can perfectly dedicate to a 9 to 5 poker related job that he will do just fine. It’s just like many football players do when they start getting old to play. Either managers, coaches, personal trainers, there’s lots of offers, and in poker is the same. More, if he decides to write some books, it will be easy money in the pockets. The truth is European financial crisis has affected all sectors, and even pro poker players are feeling it.

I think he is a mega-titl state if you ask me, i mean it's not possible to win any hand at all...

This makes me believe that the problem is on his end and needs attention. I also think that he needs a couple of months of break from poker!
