Once I have a bigger bank roll (perhaps this is a touch backwards) I'm going to buy one or the other.

Whats peoples experiences with both?

I don’t have or use any of them, but I read most people around talking nice about HEM2. But, the main question is, do you really need a tool like that to help you in the game? Knowing about how opponents usually behave is an advantage if you really know how to use that information, but if you will be playing low buy-ins you will find thousands of different players and you will have some difficulty in gather info about a specific group of players, because you will always be playing against different people.

Cheers!

I'll defo need some help figuring it out - its complicated (eays in some respects)

Finding the stats on 888 network a bit annoying. they don't align with the players aliases but i'll tweak it around.

Just watch it1 They can help you lose just as easily as they can assist you in winning. Remember, an electronic componenet can't read an individuals playing methods nor can it pick out the donks that call on any suited set they get chasing a flush. Other then that it may be a good support tool. Good Luck!

For me the answer is clear already: Go with HEM 2, HEm is simply the best poker hud!

I have HEM 1 actually and i like it much better than HEM 2 but i'm not sure if you are still able to buy HEM 1...

I agree somewhat however:

* On smaller sites you frequently play against the same people
* If you're multi-tabling, you miss a lot of information
* It's not just about using a 'HUD' - there is also a LOT to be gained from going over your HH and actually working out your leaks, etc.
* Allows you to perform lots of various statistical analysis's using all kinds of algorithms (rigtards - wanna see how many times your AA really holds up??)

Saying that, I've only ever used HEM for a little while on a trial period.. And that was a couple years ago. I've been meaning to buy HEM2 for a while now.

IMHO - If you want to be serious about your game and actually want to improve enough to play in the higher stakes (eventually) then a tool like this is vital - even if you never use a HUD - simply reviewing a session afterwards - seeing what hands you lost money on, how you played them, seeing whether you're running EV neutral or above or below - etc. Personally - I'm only a recreational player - but I *would* like to bring my game up a level or two..

In fact - reading this post.. I think I might just buy HEM2 right now!

I'll let you all know how it goes..

------------
OK - just attempted to purchase HEM-2 with a VISA card in my name, this is directly signing up with a HEM account under my own name.

Thank you for submitting your order! Unfortunately, your payment has triggered one of our suspicious transaction filters and is currently pending approval from our sales team.

If you feel you are receiving the message in error, please feel free to contact them directly at sales@holdemmanager.net

We thank you for your patience and apologize for any inconvenience our added security may have caused.

Sincerely,
Hold'Em Manager

I will update and you let you all know how it goes after this. I am hoping I don't have to wait a week or some b******t just to get some software.

------------
Purchase was HEM-2 Pro (~$90)

------------
I sent them an email as the message indicated I could:

Hi,

I'm just wondering why I am receiving this message?

The VISA card I am using is under my own name and and cannot think why my purchase is being delayed.

Can somebody please look into this ASAP this is quite frustrating.

I just mentioned on a poker forum I frequent in a thread about whether to purchase HEM-2 or Poker Tracker that I will be purchasing HEM-2 and let them know my findings. FYI: I will be updating my post to include that my purchase was delayed/flagged. If you're able to resolve this issue immediately I was obviously mention that too.

Please reply ASAP with an explanation as to why I am having my purchase 'flagged' as it seems incredibly unprofessional.

I'm particularly annoying that your statement reads my transaction is "suspicious" as this has certain connotations which are mildly offensive.

Regards,
Jesse

Hah! That's what I get for not proof-reading my email - got a few bad grammatical errors in there.. oh well.

Oh - just read this, happened to you too?

How annoying ! Let me know how yours goes too!

------------
OK - I got a reply to my email and I had to provide physical mailing address associated with my VISA, so I've sent that - hopefully they are able to process now.

------------
And - resolved - they've now emailed my license key Smile

Noonlion: I suggest emailing that sales@ address if you haven't already Blink they very quick customer service.

------------
Must say - I'm very impressed with the customer service, they replied to my emails very quickly and resolved the issue. I've now installed the software.

I was going to pull you up on that. Angry

------------
I agree with fairy and greenmohave on this. Tracker's aren't for me, I'm too much of a noble warrior. I will fight at a disadvantage, in order to prove how amazing I am, and will never use one, even at high stakes. None of that poppycock. TRUE WARRIOR.

Nicely put. It amazes me how thoughtless some of these companies are, in the way they address their customers.

BRM did it to me a while back (during the HU championship, locking me out of the forum). It's fair enough that they build these security checks, and that sometimes they go wrong. But the way this is expressed as "suspicious", is at the very least questionable.

They should think up a euphemism that is less offensive, like "We are so happy that you placed an order, that our sales team would really like to savor the experience, before approving it". Well maybe not that...

Anyway, I hope you'll enjoy HEM, I've used it for 60000+ hands so far, and still only scratched the surface.

When I first started using it, I was completely overwhelmed with all the clutter on my screen. It is a big distraction, so expect your quality of play to drop a bit at first...

The main things I like are the HUD display of the hand that was just played, this gives you an extra few seconds to really see what happened. I find it very hard to analyse my opponents when I only see their cards for a fraction of a second. Also cards that were mucked are shown, where the poker client software does not show them.

Other than that, I mainly use it to see the VPIP and the PFR percentages of all opponents, and the number of hands I played against them (larger number indicates better player, since they run deep into tournaments, so you encounter them more frequently, also the statistics you have on them are more accurate).

I use HM2 for a while know and it's a great tool, but i must admid that HM was working faster.
You can easily change the amount of stats you wanna see and give them color codes.
By this i mean that if someone folds to a continuation bet for 80% than you can give the stat a green color. If he folds only 25% you can give the stat a red color. So if you see a player with a red Fold to Cbet stat you should be more careful to cbet unless you made your hand of course.

Yeah Jesse got exact same thing come up and got it sorted within 30mins.

Perfect. Annoying it happened but hey...

How you finding the set-up?

I found on the 888 network the dam hud is rarely over the relevant players even when i select a seat preference.

Simply move the hud elements to the position you like best. You can move them with right mouse drag.

It surprised me also that the default positions are not set correctly...

HUD doesn't work for PKR anyhow.. I won't be using the HUD.. I had a quick look at it, but haven't really had the time to have a proper play yet.. But I'll be using it for HH review, etc.

Don't click. You should keep the mouse button pressed, and then drag the element into position, just like you drag a window by the title bar, only with the other mouse button.

It is a classic example of bad user interface design, since it is so unintuitive....

Are you sure? I think it should. Have you configured the PKR client to save hand histories, and told HEM to import them from that location?

mm.. it's a known fact - basically - with PKR because it's a 3D engine, all the tables are technically in one window (2D platforms have each table as a separate process/window). As such HUD software is unable to track multiple windows.

You *CAN* use a HUD on PKR (HEM2 incl) if you only play 1 table, but I never only play 1 table.

Not sure how it is on hem 2 but on hem 1 you can arrange the seat positions, i mean to to card allinegments and see what number you are.

Then you go to seating preferences and select the number(A is one and so on) and you should be done Blink
