Me at my best  +1
Haven't binked a tourney bigger than 100 players in ages. Just binked a 360 player 10c on pokerstars, but I only min deposited with the intention of only playing the depositor freerolls, 10c 360 player sngs. and 10c MTTs on stars. Everything was going right for me big time, I'll show you, every hand I won was sexy....

Cheeky button play...

Yeah man I'm just made up, I haven't won anything even reasonably big in ages. Hopefully can build a BR then I'll hopefully prove my talents at higher stakes. I know its a mountain, but I can climb it if I don't think about money. Except BRM wise.

Me too, Really you in good moment, your opponent made big raise after you called BB 1200 ? You already learn very well about exploit your lucky time. Don't know finally what is your position at the end. Many time I got the same and suddenly got card dead at bubble until I was out. How you ?

Sometimes it makes be believe that those 10 cents mtt are played worst than freerolls...

I saw just few of the hands but you played them pretty good if you ask me Smile

Read all the hands, and absolutely horrible play IMO.

I mean calling a shove for your whole stack with nothing but a 6 outter = bad play, OTF you're only 24% to win, and OTT you're 12%. Since the pot is much lower than your stack, you DO NOT have the equity to call, no matter what "gut feeling" you may get.

Open shoving 30+ BB = HORRENDOUS play. With 10/10, you're only going to get called by hands that dominate you, unless you get called by some drooling moron with any face/ace, and even then you're not much better than a flip. There's just absolutely NO reason to open shove spots like this.

I can go on and on, but I think you get the point.

Don't get me wrong, congrats on the BINK, it feels good to win a big one, but just realise based on the hands you posted, you're VERY lucky you won.

There is not really a line in your moves you make is it?
I think you dont know what ICM is? What about position play ect?
This is a 10c MTT, its really hard to play that, no clue what players are doing, so basicly uber TAG works long run.

But in general for MTTs is a bit like this:
Early stage, TAG as hell.
Middle stage, being short use ICM to survive or die, middle stack still TAG but try to see spots where you can steal/earn chips, big stack then attack middle stacks and huge your stack (not at all costs). Still in general at middle stage TAG is basic.
Bubble stage: Never ever be afraid to die, if you see a spot go for it, double/triple up or die.
Final stage: Your range must be wider cos of huge blinds and antes so playing like a maniac is not that donkish as many people think.

Anyway to become a better player study TAG, position and most important ICM.
If you do this good its basicly misses Variance who gives you a up- or downswing.

This is just standard play and you have to realise its the best thing you can do, imo you MUST do this.
Call is very very very bad and why shud we fold here, imo the only correct thing is shove.
But you ask bad shove? No really well played, but this shove is so standard that i think your a beginner MTT player that have to study basic MTT play posiiton/bubble play/ICM.

Anyway goodluck hope this helps.

Can I just say doomdy, I know ICM but most of the ones I thought were dodgy, I had a big-ish stack, and my problems with those moves is. Was it all in or donk bet? Thanks for confirming I was right in making the shove on that JJ. I know what your saying about your MTT style but this is an absolute donk fest remember. I was basically shoving on AA, KK, QQ, AK s, from any position, and 99 and above from mid/late position depending on the situations. But being very passive with the more borderline hands. If I was comfortable blind/stack wise I was limping with decent hands/ high suited cards to try to angle people. Plus obviously I know to widen my range when theres less people, less possibilities. I also finished 4th in one y'day, 12th aswell, played about 7, got ITM 5 times, and done a MTT one and got ITM aswell. Doubled my roll. Lets hope this continues. Blink

Seriously I want you to pick it apart, it won't make me a worse player, infact it will make me a better one. IMO you're one of the ones who are better than me. Come on, I can take it.

Seriously I want you to pick it apart, it won't make me a worse player, infact it will make me a better one. IMO you're one of the ones who are better than me. Come on, I can take it.

1 - Work on bet sizing. Anywhere from a 2.5x - 4x BB raise is fine to open. Of course this will vary depending on table. 3-betting/4-betting I'd say 2.5x is fine.

2 - Don't open shove with anything more than around 15BB+, especially in EP. Open shoving with >15BB is fine, as you really don't have much time to be picky, but anything more is just plain silly as I've said, you're only ever getting called by a complete retard, or someone who has you dominated.

3 - Study hand ranges. You're limping when you should be folding way too much, The key to good poker is playing TAG, but it seems like your range is UBER loose.

4 - C-bet. You're raising pre, which is fine, but it seems like your not c-betting enough. The reason you want to c-bet more, is because you can either take down the pot OTF, or make them pay for draws. This ties in with bet sizing.

5 - Don't chase draws unless the price is right. Sure it's okay to chase a draw if you're getting the right price, either based on pure pot odds, or based on assumed implied odds, but calling your whole stack with nothing but a draw is just crazy.

6 - Study ICM. Serious, probably one of the most important elements of tournies is ICM. You say you know ICM, yet your play seems to show otherwise. It's one thing to KNOW what icm is, it's another to be able to apply the knowledge. This loosely ties in with #5.

7 - Steal from the button more. Seriously, especially mid/late stages when everyone tightens up, you can become VERY aggressive from LP.

8 - Be more aggressive. Post flop you seem to have a tendency to check-call a lot. You need to be firing more, but in the right spots. Learn what types of board textures you can c-bet, when it's profitable to float, and when you should be check-folding. This is largely dependant on your opponents tendencies (Ie: if they are TAG/LAG, etc).

Okay thanks, I will take this advice. The thing is, I was on the higher borderline of ICM in most of those situations. I was debating whether to flat call, or raise some of them but thought again and thought no just shove because I can't really play ICM if I get tied into a pot.

Saddamman...Well done, I have played that game a few times and you really need you wits (and a good helping of lady luck) given some of the players that turn up. A good result by the looks of it. Make the most of your BR.

If you didn't just talk without any knowledge of what you're talking about, like you tend to do. You'd realize this isn't an egotistical thing to do. More of something you'd do if consumed by the id. Google "the id" you cockface.

The first one was a bit risky, there could have been spades in the hand better than yours. And the 2nd one, ok you entered all-in before seeing AAK at the flop, because I bet you shake a lot when you saw that flop. I havent seen the others with that much attention but (i'm sorry if you're not gonna like it), if you call this the best of you, the best of you is what the table does for you. Don't be sad, it's the same with me most of times.
