Bis Stack, Low Stack or Medium Stack?  0
So, when do you play best? When you're big stack, low stack or somewhere in the middle?
Personally, I play way better when I'm short stack, I find that for some reason, I play my cards way better then when I'm big stack.

I'd say when I'm the big stack I play better because with a short or medium stack you shouldn't really be making moves with the amount of chips you have.

I have no problem being short stack cos its so easy standard play for me.
Also medium stack is not really a problem cos its for me very standard after so many games.
Being big stack is at times very very hard for me cos at times i loose myself in too much overagrresiv play, being big stack i must really concentrate making the right moves, when i really concentrate hard i can play a good game being big but only then.

I'm the same but I'm trying to work on it.

I find medium stack suits me well, but I play a SS well too, to be honest i think most people do, because your range and flop play has to be uber good so i think it's easier to concentrate

I think i play better when I'm short to middle stacked, as i make better decisions (card/range selections, playing NIT) than large stacked , as i tend to change gears alot, I play mostly MTT's (trying stay around Average + stack & cut down risks to get in ITM, then open up range, deepens of game format too. deepens if im drunk too lol, as it gives me wings Big Smile, courage to go with my gut feelings/intuition, be it flying high or dropping like a stone)

I probably play my best when mid stack(tourn) though when I have the BS I do find the game eases off and the choices I make and force are with a doesnt matter too much approach and get to pich out lots of little tells.
For SS, well its the easiest out of the lot to play and I play it as you are meant to, but you truly can not play your best with a SS, you should be at your best when BS.

Hi guys!!

Without doubt i did my best poker playing MidStack (35-40bb). I make the 70% of my winnings playing it.

See you in tables during only... 2 days.

Short stack make me under pressure when BB increase, no much choice...just waiting good card and go all in. You said play better when you had short stack, how to play ? no enough range for tactical bet. Just fold or shove, right ? is that you said best ?

Definitely i play my best being BS, easier to control things around the table and put mid-stacks under pressure. Being SS its as serpang says shove/fold in most cases, coin flipping ur way out of it.
Mid stack is probably the hardest for me in terms of decision making. one wrong move and ur crippled but when waiting too long the blinds also take a chunk u cannot afford. terrible position to be in when ur not hitting anything.

I notice I play better when I have around 12 to 20 BB’s and I am in a table with many others in the same situation. In an MTT with a big field, this means I move better at low stack, maybe because of the pressure included, but that also means that a little bad move is enough to ruin everything. When I start to get top places in an earlier stage, most of times I collapse in the attempt of robbing shorties, like if they understood what I was trying to do (probably they do).

I'm exactly the same way! I suppose I just get a bit reckless when I'm big stack, doing some bad moves and then I'm down to playing SS or MS and only just getting into the money.

Im not playing in high limits, but in those i play im doing better with low and medium stack.
It gives me more flexibility, in calling and chasing sometimes for cards, especially with min stack
where you can reload at once without getting tilted Smile
All depends of course with limits and your bankroll.

this is actually a lot harder question than it looks- it depends on the limit, on the type of game you are playing, on your opponents, on table size even on how you are feeling on the day- so many answers possible here...i just like to play short stack more because i lose less this way and if i double up i move to higher limits and so on- so i basically play with other people money...

Some good comments here. MEdium stack is probably best for me at the moment, i sometimes lose patience and overextend when on large stack, and as pointed out I too am working on those weakness to turn them into strengths. I agree with Pochui (yet again) its a tricky question when you get down to the fine detail.
