i lost afew$$$ early today was getting mad so i stop for a few hours. when i start to play again i won my loses back and a bit more on top so i stop happy with what i got back . nothing on tv so i play a few more hands . lose lose lose and so on why didn't i just go to bed??? .

you know you have to really think about how your playing. when im not winning hands i should be in a session i start playing differently without realising for a while, im calling re-raises with marginal hands im opening with weaker than i normally would and so on. when i notice im playing like this i take a couple of breaths maybe even i break and start playing my game again.
i heard something the other day too which made me think about my game differently aswell and never even thought about before but is totally true. i was watching sky poker and one of the "experts" mantioned 'positive tilt' he said when we are winning we can go on "positive tilt" which makes us believe we are running so good that we will hit everything so play more hands.
so if your winning or losing just think about how you are playing and make sure it is your normal game.

That’s the problem of most of online poker players. Me, for example, I always tend to think about the time I have to play. So, if I have two hours to play it, I will do it for two hours, not thinking that, if it happens for one of the games to run really good (like winning very nice at a ring table), that probably I should stop the session there. Most of the times, when almost near to end my poker session, I notice I start playing worst, like if I wanted to give a last shot to increase my profits faster, and it happens the opposite…

my problem is to start playing,, stopping is not that much hard...i realy have to charge myself up.. so mostly i start with 1 table,, if going well and not knocked out,, i open another table...
i reach itm on one of the 2...,, i open another and so on..nowadays i stop ,after having 4-5 tables open...don't open more untill i finished the 4 tables...and got me profit...

Like its been said above. If you cant handle yourself try to set a target, both for losing and winning. That will help you somehow to restrain yourself. After you reach your target just get away from the internet the first days. It will keep you from relapsing

i know when to stop- when i lose my whole bankroll afterwards just sit in front of monitor for a while talking to your virtual "friends" at the table in all possible "kind" ways to end the day on a positive note i like to build my roll from free money offers, promotions, so i do not lose any of my money- this is the only reason i haven't hit my pc with a hammer

A basic principle of poker is if you are having a bad time, getting furstrated and impatient with rubbish cards, keep losing hands you should be winning etc, then just walk away and go and do something else. On the contrary, if you are playing well and enjopying it (remembering that concentration is key) then niothing else in life is more important than carrying on playing.
My example tonight is I fancied playing, didnt really know which game to play so picked one and almost isntantly didnt feel like it....so I walked away and came here instead tom seek inspiration from you guys. Think im gonna go to bed now though!!!!!
i won some back tonight and i am quite happy . so i think i wont do the same as last night and keep playing i am stoppig now i am tired . got a busy day tomorow its my husbands birthday in the morning then mine the day after. do i get some mob draw tickets for my birthday
Maybe your game has some leak eventhough you are tilted or not. You should study the way you played and try to improve before you start losing money again. Just my opinion
