Andy Bloch is the name of the winner of Event 7: $1,500 buy-in Seven Card Stud($126,363). Bloch, 43, has been taking part in the World Series of Poker since 1995 but never won a single event. In other words, it took Bloch 18 years to get his very first gold bracelet. Bloch now has 28 cashes, 8 final table appearances, and more than $2.3 million in WSOP earnings.

He must be very happy for this achievement, but I think there’s nothing wrong in this story. At first, one can think “wow, so long to get a first place”, but then, looking at his earnings only in the WSOP, means things have been running quite well, like many others would wish but that just can’t get there, although trying every year. I bet there are some nice stories of those almost heroes that have ever been told.

cool- this guy is a true picture of commitment- this goes for every sector of life- if you go for it and don't stop when you fail- eventually you will win. good going andy. just look who came in second, man does barry ever end a major series without final table appearances, he is really consistent
