Viktor "Isildur1" Blom had all eyes on him when he registered for the tournament as it was his first-ever WSOP event and also because many consider him to be one of the best NLH heads-up players in the world!  Blom got the best possible start on the tour[...]   Read more » Disappointing WSOP Debut for Viktor "Isildur1" Blom

I think it was a bit much to expect a huge result straight away.

Plus everyone will be out to bust him as well, I think he's probably the most known and talked about young gun - people know his game to an extent.

He still knocked out Bloch who's no rookie.

unlucky for victor blom, maybe a lot of pressure on his shoulders but he has the talent so no doubt he will bounce right back and hopefully a bracelet wont be too far away

The hand between Andy Block and Blom that send Block home must have been very nice. They knew each other who they were playing with, and maybe that was what made Block fail. I don't know how that hand was played, but maybe Andy tried to force Blom or he decided not to believe in the possible bluff of the high stakes pro, which become a real good hand. And then it was Blom who let himself go for Tommy Chen's game. It happens to all, now none of them will fight for the $371k first prize.

Maybe with more experience in WSOP blom can take home a bracelet soon. First time results always hard to count. Only Moneymaker has made very big impact in his first live event and winning WSOP Bracelet...

Good lesson for us,especially for everyone who on tilt when got bad result / bad beat. Even top player could be eliminated very early. Hope we get another lesson from him, how he make better move next.

Even if you are talented and play your best game you still can be knocked out early 20 times in a row

Doesnt matter if you good or not its just poker ....you need luck

And knocking 1 player out in a HU tourney doesnt say anything even if its Andy Block or Phil Ivey...every 1 of us can knock out anyone hu

Before it was known Isildur1 was Viktor Blom, nobody knew anything about him and nobody expected nothing of him. He may be one of the online poker player in the world but live poker is completely different so ... why such a big expectation in live events?

i'm not sure he was meant to do well- guy just entered a tourney he likes (format of it) and tried to play for fun more than anything else imho- he is first time in wsop so it was a new experience, and with all that added publicity, i doubt that made him very happy- maybe he said enough to himself and busted out on purpose to go out of the eyes of reporters...lol

I still think that he is the best NLHE player if you ask me but even the best poker players out there can have bad days...

Unfortunately it seemed that Viktor just had one of those days...

I wonder if he will also try a PLO event??

well HU is always a bit of luck and blom missed it that time, that doesnt mean he has done wrong, of course its disapointing to see him blow this realy but it is his first WSOP and he's only 21 old, he has lots of time to win a bracelet and if it's not this year, he will have some later for sure.

Don't expect Bloom to be winning bracelets in an instant. Actually, for all we know it could be years before he wins one. Online success does not always equate to live success.

He is definitely not a tournament player, he is just cash game player, who fears noone...
I seriously doubt he will ever win some mtt bracelet...
