Finally got an answer from their support about the term of this bonus, would like to know your thoughts.....
Hi Adam,
Thanks for your enquiry, the bonus assumes a mythical deposit of $500 and is then paid out in $5 increments at the rate of $1 for every 75 points earned. This does not require a deposit however you will need to generate funds from freerolls in order to earn points.
As an alternative we are now able to offer 35% rakeback to players and this is done daily, what this means is that for every $1 in rake generated at the tables you will be given back 35c.
Please let us know if we can assist you further.
Kind Regards
Gutshot Support

I don't get the use of the word 'mythical' in this context. Which deal is better?

Basically you can earn back up to $500 as you generate points. Based on how their point system works for example if: $1 = 5 points everytime you make 75 points you get $5 bonus from the $500 mythical that exist as your signup bonus.
As for the 35% rakeI'm not real sure, but if you were to deposit $10.00 and spend the $10.00 you'd get back $3.50 in rake. I'm sure a more experienced Mobsters know's for sure!

i think u should be able to get both (though bonus will be deducted from MGR) but if u have to make a choice then surely rakeback, bonus is only around 14%( on merge 1$ = 10 points)

Supernoob, I only play MTTs and SNGs does this make any real difference to rakeback? I know rakeback is usually more profitable for cash games than tourneys.
I'm thinking of just trying to get it for nothing from the freerolls until I get payed next week. But will definitely deposit if it doesn't happen by then. If I win in a freeroll I'm gunna ask them if I still get the rakeback deal.

That really depends on you and how long you are going to play there. If you are going to play for a long time the rakeback deal is a better offer.
And that goes for all situations that you have to choose between offers like the ones you mention above.
Of course there are sites that offer both at the same time, which is a far more better deal.
And if they are giving you 500$ which you can clear from freeroll winnings only then i do get the use of word "Mythical" since i havent heard of an offer like this one before (highest "no deposit bonus" i have ever seen)

Yeah it is a very big NDB but it says "the bonus assumes a mythical deposit of $500" but then says there's no deposit required. It's a contradiction. The way they have used that word is confusing me very much, although I get what they mean, except for the use of that word.

most of the times it wont make a difference, but in some cases/networks it might cause a small difference. bonus is released from vip points i.e. rake u generate. rakeback is calculated from MGR which is rake generated - deductions, deductions can be bonus cleared/overlay from guaranteed MTTs/transaction fees etc i dont think merge has that many tournaments with overlays, so it wont make much difference to you.
to release the entire bonus of 750$ u'll need to generate 750 X 7.5 $ rake = 5625$, so u get 750$ (+ vip club benefits ???) for 5625$ rake but if you had rakeback u'll get around 35% of 5625, around 2000$
previously merge had policy of 1 rakeback account per network, just check with their support or you'll be stuck with gutshot.
and if u are gonna deposit just for the bonus, u might be better off at some other site.

Thank you, you're a legend. When you put it into numbers, the rakeback sounds much better, unless you can't/won't deposit. But at the same time maybe I should just keep trying my luck in the freerolls for the free money because I know there is better rakeback deals here at BRM. So I'll probably just do a different one through BRM.
