For Italians, French and Belgian people  0
As you know, a new regulation law has been approved in Spain in which is not really clear how we should pay the taxes. It's said that we should pay only the winnings, not the loss (absolutely unfair). My question is, as in France, Italy and Belgium has already been approved, how do you pay the taxes over there? Is it so unfair like it seems it will be here? Aww crap!

It a lot more unclear than in Spain in think.
I posted about it a few times with some detail beginning of the year but I forget where, sorry.

It is completely up to the Tax service whether they think you should pay taxes, there are no rules as to who is Pro or not, etc etc. And if you don't pay you get huge fines. But nobody knows who has to pay. and on and on like this. Ridiculous.
Losing doen't count, of course. Only winnings.
So sites take the rake, Government takes up to 40% of the rest.
that's about all we know.

If you can find my post it is described in there.

In Italy taxes are paid within the fee/rake;
when you win money from cashgame sng and MTT you can cash out without paying anything to the taxman.

Should I understand that in Italy the fees/rakes raised a little but anything else? Are you completely sure or are you tricking your government? Blink

So ... in conclusion ... with such conditions ... are u still playing poker?? It doesn't worth it for sure. You should have a 90% of ROI to be succesful. Do they really want to exterminate online poker?

They are just trying to get the most of it by taxing everything they can
as much as they can.
All the morons politicians trying to fix one crap with two more.
Thats not a solution.
Greek measures arent in total effect yet about online gambling, since they have more serious
things to worry about

I think your poker paltform should be considered your bankroll, i mean they should only get taxes on the money that you cashout!

I mean it would be ridiculoas to pay taxes on some money that you win but then you lose them back!

Only way to trick governemnt taxes is to play on .com poker room (you cabn do it but then you should comunicatre your winnings to the taxman etc etc).
If I play on .it poker room every winning is already charged with taxes when you earn it and you don't have to do any fullfillments to withdrfaw.

Gross kake in cash game is average 5% if I'm not wrong ... but with bonuses and vipsystems and promotions is not so difficult to beat it Smile

PS: if my ROI would ever be near to 90% I would surely quit my job Cool

I would like .es sites just raised a little the rakes but I guess that won't happen is Spain. As it's said, the site won't pay anything to the Treasury and every player should declare only the winnings so, if we have our own salary, we will pay about 25% of our winnings ( not benefits, just winnings! ). This is impossible to beat, even playing against spaniards.

Probably the more serious poker players will be forced, to live play more,
after those measures in all countries.
And with all the casinos, and the private clubs, or home games,
governments will still be losing money.
There is a piece of that pie that no matter what, they wont be able
to put their hands on.

yeah, Tax policy look ugly. I played at USA poker site with member system, my withdraw deducted for tax, pure from my withdrawal. Not my withdraw - ( minus ) membership fee = result x ?% tax.
would someone play live at casino share about this ? same system ?

When I won in the casinos in Vegas and Laughlin anything above $1200.00 you have to pay taxes on. All they gave me was a winnings sheet and I had to claim the $2700.00 on my year end taxes. It cost me about 25% so roughly $700.00. Can't win money without paying the taxman. They want taxes from the money you work for, the things you buy and your property. What a joke!

Hi guys!!

I read in the weekend an interview to Mr Alejo (one of the regulators of the new spanish law of game) that says they are working with other regulated markets (.it .fr?) in the EU. Seems .eu sites are near?
