Posted by BeMyATMplz: As for the call,it's probably a -EV call longterm, you need to win 50% to win to make it a profitable call longterm in terms of Chip EV,which I'm not sure we have.

can understand that. I would move to australia to if I had the chance. But thats just because I'm a wildlife / reptile fanatic. And here in belgium the wildlife is mainly pidgeons, so nothing exiting about that

think u made a mistake in calculation
He has to pay 24734 to win 49468 - Thats 1/2 = 50%

u must be too distracted while doing this cos dont expect this mistake from player of your level
anyway, probability of winning = p probability of losing = 1-p
profit on winning = 49468 loss on losing = 24734
total profit = 49468 x p = 49468p total loss = 24734 x(1-p) = 24734 - 24734p

Your math has the leak that you include possible loss. Possible loss shouldnt be included when calculating needed equity for a call. Otherwise it'd be correct to call in the BB with any2 to a 5BB shove or something for example, which is pretty bad. The most simple math to calculate the needed equity is the way I mentioned above so: 24734/49468 = 1/2 = 50%
Thats also the math I have always been taught. I did the same mistake as you when I started playing turbo SNGs and ended up doing crazy calls and got berated by regs (not even joking, that did happen for that reason)

lol. Yeah - doing anything while grinding is often a mistake.. It is surprising how much of your attention is taken up. Because you get so used to been able to grind 4,6,8,10+ tables, you take it for granted that you still have your concentration. But it really does take a lot of your focus to be able to manage all those tables.

I usually play turbo MTSNGs mostly nowdays,so masstabling & browsing is usually not too hard because about 60% of all decisions I make are just standard push/fold decisions anyways,so my game doesnt really suffer unless it's an ICM based decision or a close spot seems like the level of my posts suffers from it though

Its better the posts you make to suffer than your grinding. You are not losing anything by making a post with wrong calculations, but it can cost you if this happens in your tables.

Just a bump as Judecatorul just got PKR Player of the Month; and now has a $1/$2 game named after him as well as an MTT.

some very nice finishes there battle, well done and keep doing what you're dong as it's obviously working for you. as to the call yes that was a tricky one but well done for making it as you were at the table and you had a read on the guy,you took the chance and it paid off
Congratulations on the wins, and keep up the good work. That was a risky call but if you know your players and really thought he wad Bluffing then going with your gut is the way to go.
