Sweet - got your FR. I'm at work at moment though and can't add you, because the PKR site is playing up and every time I try and get to the myPKR section it just asks me to login.. I'll accept you later from the client though.

As for the call,it's probably a -EV call longterm, you need to win 50% to win to make it a profitable call longterm in terms of Chip EV,which I'm not sure we have.

think u made a mistake in calculation

can understand that. I would move to australia to if I had the chance. But thats just because I'm a wildlife / reptile fanatic. And here in belgium the wildlife is mainly pidgeons, so nothing exiting about that

He has to pay 24734 to win 49468 - Thats 1/2 = 50% Blink

u must be too distracted while doing this cos dont expect this mistake from player of your level

anyway,
probability of winning = p
probability of losing = 1-p

profit on winning = 49468
loss on losing = 24734

total profit = 49468 x p = 49468p
total loss = 24734 x(1-p) = 24734 - 24734p

to be profitable -
total profit > total loss

49468p > 24734-24734p
74202p > 24734
3p >1
p > 1/3

1/2 is odds he needs, while calculating % - numerator has to be included in denominator

Your math has the leak that you include possible loss. Possible loss shouldnt be included when calculating needed equity for a call. Otherwise it'd be correct to call in the BB with any2 to a 5BB shove or something for example, which is pretty bad.
The most simple math to calculate the needed equity is the way I mentioned above so:
24734/49468 = 1/2 = 50%

Thats also the math I have always been taught.
I did the same mistake as you when I started playing turbo SNGs and ended up doing crazy calls and got berated by regs (not even joking, that did happen for that reason) Blink

SuperNoob is correct.
To have 50% EQUITY that means calling 49468 to win 49468 (50:50)

Think about it - you need 50% because half the time you win 49468 and half the time you lose 49468.

If your call equates to roughly half the possible win, that means you need to win about 33% of the time.

If you're calling say 10 to win 20 then you're getting 2 to 1 on your money, or the odds are 1/3

lol. Yeah - doing anything while grinding is often a mistake.. It is surprising how much of your attention is taken up. Because you get so used to been able to grind 4,6,8,10+ tables, you take it for granted that you still have your concentration. But it really does take a lot of your focus to be able to manage all those tables.

I usually play turbo MTSNGs mostly nowdays,so masstabling & browsing is usually not too hard because about 60% of all decisions I make are just standard push/fold decisions anyways,so my game doesnt really suffer unless it's an ICM based decision or a close spot Blink seems like the level of my posts suffers from it though Big Smile Big Smile Big Smile

Its better the posts you make to suffer than your grinding.
You are not losing anything by making a post with wrong calculations,
but it can cost you if this happens in your tables.

Concentrate, Concentrate Smile

JuDeCaToRuL: donkey call!
yannickvr: was just to big for value
JuDeCaToRuL: STFU
JuDeCaToRuL: you are a donk
JuDeCaToRuL: calling with that
yannickvr: I was right wasn't I?

Just a bump as Judecatorul just got PKR Player of the Month; and now has a $1/$2 game named after him as well as an MTT.
