Any Greeks?  0
Who are you voting for and why?

Very interested to see the results of your ballot.

Personally I think it is best for Greece to exit the EU - or at the least, not take the current deal. But of course, I am not European and I would be very interested to hear what the Greeks have to say..??

Well, I'm obviously no Greek, but my cousins are so I have a little better understanding about this then most people outside of Greece do. I wouldn't say that exiting the EU is the way to go, but for neither is taking the current deal. I would say that they need to negotiate and get a better deal.

Either way its going to be hard for them, If they stay with current terms then it will be a huge up hill battle to recover, if they leave, assuming they go back to the drachma then it will very quicly become worthless, making it even harder to recover.
This will be the last bail out before they leave the Euro, by choice or force, then I guess the focus is on how it affects the likes of Spain.
The worst thing they could possibly do right now is to leave the Euro.
Greece need huge reform, the terms are not negotiable, truly is deadlock, no winning situation.

With few words, cause i hate politics and analysing all this crap,
worst thing that could happen to Greece right now would have been the exit
from the euro.
The current elections kept us in, but there will be always the case to force us out.
Kinda hard to happen but not impossible.

You won't expand on this at all?

Greek government pretty much runs out of money for everything by the end of the month, if they leave that means nothing no more from euro to keep running. Then all the fall on affect for countries all round europe will not help either as greeces tourism is a massive part of the economy too, other countries cant go holidays to greece and prob would not because the goverment will be in a shambles with no money to pay for any services.

All the things ive watched they are saying the only way to get out of this is to make it like the united states of europe because a currency without a state behind it will never work. so i am lead to believe anyway Big Smile

Its by no means good for anyone, if the euro falls apart the germans are fucked too because all the things they have tied up in euros assets ect.

It really is a fucked up situation as if you crumbles it will drag the rest of the worlrd down

Margaret Thatcher once said: "Socialism is very nice until you run out of other people's money" and that's what has happened to Greece. Unfortunately there is still a big percentage of Greeks that just can't get over the fact that they have to earn their wages by actually producing something. The sad thing is that besides those, a lot of other innocent people are suffering too. I hope the new Government will be able to do something about the huge mess that the socialist Governments of the past 30 years have created, so that we won't have to humiliate ourselves anymore by asking for money from other countries to survive. That's just not fit for a country that 40 years ago had the biggest annual growth in GDP in the whole world, just as China has today.

No, it doesnt worth to expand at all for many reasons.
One and the most important is that the site is a poker forum,
and another reason is that you just fuelling idiots, making idiotic comments like the
one above, where they like to blame it always on others from a political point of view
and perception as you can obviously see.
Always in this country is someone else's fault, and we have nothing to do with it.
Idiots.

Better leave this subject out of BRM jess believe me.

Hence off topic.

His view is how it is.
Always in this country is someone else's fault, and we have nothing to do with it.
Idiots.

Don't think he said that unless Im reading it wrong, but if so that's exactly why you should put across your point of view.

The reason to why its so bad for you to leave the Euro is the exchange rate of the new drachma would collapse in the open markets, making it difficult to secure supplies of the likes of oil, medicine, foodstuffs and other goods, mass unemployment and lots of businesses going bankrupt, no other countries would want to invest, banks for that.
With current ressesions around Europe, this would prove to be very tough times for the Greeks, we have had lots of strikes due to small cuts in public spending, your cuts will have to be around 30%, then these unemployed to to be looked after, huge strain.
In the long run, probably better, the likes of Germany don't want to keep bailing out, and as the strongest Euro member they get to pull rank, if things don't change, either you leave, or they do.
There's lot more to it, but think Iv simplified the main bits.
The Iron Lady was right, your government got way to greedy.

We certainly have something to do with it, someone must have voted for those Governments!
As far back as I remember myself those politicians where always talking about redistribution of wealth. Noone ever said something about helping people produce themselves some wealth for a change. And what worries me most is that I keep hearing the same things even today. As our ancestors where saying, "making the same mistake twice doesn't show a wise man".
