Despite not winning this one, Hellmuth has been doing surprisingly good this WSOP.. Taking into consideration his last couple of years of cold streak i didn't put much hopes on him this year. But back on the topic, congratulations to Baker for his second bracelet!

One Canadian among seven north-americans in the first eight places of this event, it just shows locals keep ruling events when they play at home. And what a nice victory from a 25 year old pro against big names such as Phil Hellmuth and Phil Ivey. Known pros got to watch out if they want to keep their prestige.

in terms of numbers yes wsop is dominated by americans, but in terms of winners (final table players) this is not always the case- especially when we look at the main event...i think more americans enter those lower profile events, less popular games- and on the contrary the rest just pile up for main event

Posted by noonlion: Yeah Fakiry, the WSOP is always dominated by Americans, probably even more so now due to the online poker ban so it's an outlet.
I see what you mean noonlion, but i don’t know if it’s the lack of online activity that is pushing american players to the WSOP or if it’s world wide economical crysis (or any other reason related with lack of money) that is taking foreigners and non-americans out of the poker annual top event.
