Online poker will be forbidden in Germany  0
I read that online poker and casino games are going to be forbidden in Germany from the 1st of July. Well just only in 15 of 16 federal states. Another country KO. Online poker is living its last days ... Aww crap!

That's really terrible news. I hope Portugal is safe for some more time, a law like that would take 4 or 5 years to be discussed and 10 to be implemented. Nevertheless .... *fear*

As far as I know in Portugal the government wanted to approved for this year but there was a "technical" problem to implement it. I don't remember what exactly was though. As you say, Portugal might be safe for several years

just false news.
its always been forbidden to play for money on internet (casino/poker), but no one cares, or at least no one takes action against it.

It's just going to change the way on-line poker sites address business in every state or country. It's all about states or countries not getting a piece of the pie. There will be a site that abides by the requirements and as players we'll not like it at first, but this will become the standard. It may take some time to be implemented, but I can't see something dying when there's money that can be made via home entertainment.

Fact is, if some of these states or countries would establish andf control on-line gambling it could help their economy, but they just want to tell you it's raining while their pizzing down your back.

It's the same in Australia - it's completely illegal here - but nothing at all is done about it. But there is talk....

Essentially governments hate iot because it allows people to make money outwith their box of tricks which they hate.

I can see it worsening as well - the internet itself is struggling to be free from onwership and regulation by greedy bastards.

I hope the UK doesn't get all retarded soon too.

Yeah as if online poker is at the heart of the worlds economic crisis.

If anything ban gambling, thats GAMBLING - when the house always wins and no public member can profit.

Seriously I do think with the economies of so many countries fucked poker could die online a fair bit - people have less money and there's probably going to be a global shut down.

Everyone move to Monte Carlo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You cant blame governments for trying to make a few extra quid from people having fun! Maybe they (in UK at least) ought to legalise prostituion and drugs and tax it and make even mnore money out of people abusing themselves instead!!!

So, its up to someone starting taking actions for the laws that already exist.
I have seen this somewhere but cant remeber where Smile
Hopefully it wont happen for the shake of all players and poker itself,
since its going downhill lately.

It's a grey area in Canada. Gambling is legal but running an online casino is not, and they've passed laws to make it more difficult to deposit. Hopefully they'll never be lame enough to try ban it. I'd consider that a huge invasion on my rights.

In Belgium most pokersites are on the black list, read "forbidden".
Only the pokersites who are linked to a casino have legal.
For instance Pokerstars has an official pokerstars.be site where you can play legal poker

i believe that a part of the rake goes to the gouvernment

It's not a fake story, I read it in a very valuated forum but I can't post the link because it goes against the rules. I don't know if finally Germany will ban online poker but, at least, they are thinking of it. Just google a little if you don't believe it
